Talon TSI Video

I know its not a Cobalt etc.... but heres a littel video of a 700hp Eagle Talon TSI my buddy Chris and I built while he was co-owner of Turbochargers.com back in 2003. Its got 700hp and beats this 1000hp TransAm in a 1/4 mile race by 2 cars easy. Needless to say the TA never payed us but thats ok, alot of people refused to goto their shop after this race. Where as Turbochargers.com and Xtreme Performance both got hella increased buisness. We won in the long run.

I give that Talon props, that car looked damn quick..I personally seen a VR4 puttin down 935hp to the wheels before it ran out of fuel. They needed to upgrade the fuel pump. This thing had 4" full exhaust, crazy...Anywayz..Nice video, couple of those launches looked like it was more of a drivers race.

Somtimes i miss my TSi. I saw Buscher racing's TSi at quaker city and that thing was wicked, did a 9.89 in the 1/4. They ran a full haltech standalone on it

they are all wheel drive but about 1:30 into the vid they have the talon on a dyno and the back wheels arent spinning, there is a stopper in front of them.

this might not have had awd but i thought all tsi had turbo/awd

i miss my laser rs sometimes also, that awd was sure nice!

Actually when you want to DYNO a AWD car and dont have a AWD dyno you disconnect the 2 rear transaxles... thats all they did. Just measured the HP on teh front tires like a 2wd car. in 2wd it measured 970whp but on Turbochargers.com's AWD Dyno it measures out at like 600+whp. I think because of the change from 2wd to AWD you lose alot of the WHP.

Ohh and that Talon runs a solid 9.1 1/4 mile. The new Talon Chris built only runs 9.9 to 10.2 or so.

yea well my buddy has a fwd talon turbo, and in that vid i saw the lack of spinning of the back tires, figured if it WAS awd, you would completely and utterly destroy all the components of the drivetrain by not letting the rear wheels spin.

my bad, figured you were being sarcastic to the kid! yeah, the mitsubishi eclipse, eagle talon, and plymouth laser were all the exact same cars with slight body differences. i prefer the 2g, not a fan of the flip up headlight myself

not all 1g;s had flip ups

92 talons and plymouths had regular lights

it was the 89 mitsu and 90 91 dsm's that had flip ups ... now time for your lesson ...

the 2g's started in 92, i had a 92 that was 2g. but yeah, i think youre right, some 92's were 1g if they were the early series, i think the split was around june-ish?

no the 2g's are classified as 95 +

there was a change in the lights after 91 but they did not consider it a change in generation

hmm, i really want to disagree with you on this. i thought sure they called it a second gen from mid-92 up until 94. i could be wrong

i just checked a few websites and they all confirm what you said. i know they changed the 92's halfway though 92, maybe i always figured that to mean 2gen, as in the 2gen of 92

edit: i was thinking along the lines of the 6 or 7 bolt engine along with the 3 or 4 bolt rear end. those were both changed around the end of 91 beginning of 92 era

my bad
