TC Sedan on PF01's and YYZ's, need I say more?
got busy this weekend and got the SS all dressed up in her summer shoes and threw on some Powell YYZ springs while I was at it. Better late than never right?
Setup:
Enkei PF01 18x8
235/40/18 BFG KDW's
Powell YYZ Springs
McGard Lock Nuts
Ignore the multiple locations and the dirty car, my driveway sucks! lol
balanced/mounted rims and tires at my buddies shop and installed them there.

right after that she looked like this

then the day after I lowered it on Powell YYZ performance springs. Total pain in my ass to remove some of the nuts needed to do the drop (namely endlinks) as they were corroded on very well from being driven two winters, but nothing a little heating up with a torch didn't fix. After that it was pretty straightforward. Dropped it like maybe .5" all around, possibly .75" in the front but its hard to compare as I haven't put my stock rims on to see the real difference. Oh well I don't care about the drop anyways. From how I have driven on them so far they ride just like stock until you push them around a corner then there seems to be more oversteer and in general just a really good balance with the hardcore bar. anyways on to pics

Definately washing it tonight

yeah, lets see... get coils, have 2" of suspension travel, handle like a turd, worry constantly about where your driving to avoid damaging your car, replace drivetrain parts constantly, AND have it ride like a sack of potatoes to boot while your interior crumbles apart on you.. no thanks, I'll pass

mine handles great, i dont worry bout driving newher cuz i dont hav it tucking and slammed jus a nice lowered look, never replaced drivetrain parts until i had the engine built, and it rides nice and smooth
not bad. They look like the front is a little higher than my pedders. I like the wheels. I'm hoping to find a set in the spring. Either the PF01's or O.Z. Ultraleggera's.
I think for now though, I'll stick with my pedders for what I use it for.

typical lowrider mentality here lolz
I'll admit it looks better lower, but from a DD-competitive-track-bang-for-your-buck-i-drive-in-6"-of-snow standpoint here. Coils are complete and utter garbage idc if you can raise them up and down or not

If I may add my 10 cents, the ride quality of the SS/TC is that great. The car is meant to handle. My question is why would you waste your money the car still has a **** load of fender gap. On a side note if you buy the correct coils the ride quality is good. This site is full of people that have no clue about cars and put info that is false. I really like the calipers and wheel setup, I personally think you should of gone with atleast 245/35 but its your car. I hope you enjoy it.

I didnt buy the springs to go low.. it wasnt even a thought to go lower than stock. If i wanted lower springs I could've gotten other saggy brands out there. these were designed with the intent of outhandling the stock ss/tc springs and so far they are doing just that and thats all I wanted to begin with.
Push any current coil setup on a track and you'll be hitting bumpstops or rubbing (depending on tire setup) guaranteed, if you arent I bet your ride quality is terrible. I didnt need 245's either. I'm on stock tune yet so I'll have problems breaking these 235's loose. The extra MPG from the narrower tire is more important than traction atm. the next set will likely be 245/40's though as I'm hoping to be tuned by then and traction will be needed

a wider tire gives you better traction. the aspect ratio is just the ratio of sidewall height to tire width, Generally speaking for us cobalt guys on 18's we want to stick with a 40 series aspect ratio. 35 series tires look very skinny and ride rough imo, so thats why a vast majority of everyone here will run 225/40 (stock), 235/40 (like me), or 245/40

From the factory the suspension is pretty dang good. Do these springs really make that much of a difference in handling? <<serious question.
Because I would think being lower (with a quality spring) would be better handling than with a 4x4 stance with a quality spring.
Edit...^^^he beat me to the question lol

will be going to the track by the end of the month for sure to get a feel of what these have changed. The ride hasnt changed much, but on the corners I have taken now the balance feels much better.
Wangspeed has reviews from his track experiences already in the YYZ thread if you care to search though
