oh come on now.. what is that based on? scientists just pull those crap theories out of their asses lol scientists know very little about other galaxies and they are never ending... far beyond anything we could see with our technology. out galaxy is a drop in the bucket.. im sure there are some still forming..

i do agree that we'd be ignorant to think we're alone in the universe

We have no idea how old our galaxy is. Probably won't know that for a long ass time if ever.

It's one thing to believe in other life forms. It's a whole other belief to believe that those 1 in a billion beings found Earth.

hahahaaa

well the only thing about all this that rly dissapoints me is that i will probably never know if/where/when/how much life is out there. it would be just a dream come true to be able to portal into another planet with living forms just to see. ( ._.)

I wouldn't call this a UFO since it's right next to the ground. It almost looks photoshopped IMO. More pics or a video would be extremely helpful.

Like I said, it's not my picture and he sent it to me. Just thought I would share. I can't photoshop for the life of me. Just thought some would like it.

So if there is another intelligent being out there and developement long before us, then they could easily have high speed space travel. Finding our planet in the universe is a whole other topic. There is no way in hell we could find another being unless they were close to us in the galaxy.
I will add one other puzzle piece to this. There is only a narrow window for life to exist in the galaxies, and we happen to be right in that band. If we are too far from the outside the galaxy where stars rotate the slowest we will eventually be launched into space off the suns orbit around the milkyway. The events that could take place would be catastrophic rotation around the star (sun) could be altered or slowed to a point that would effect life formation. Too close to the center of the galaxy and rotational speeds will be extreme. Days would be shortened, planets would probably collide, orbits would be more elliptical and the asteroid belt more deadly.

The key for us was that there was a moon. The moon constantly pulled at the oceans creating a moving tide not to mention when the moon impacted Earth originally putting it on a tilt so that we may have seasons. You know what planet doesnt have seasons? Mars. Mars has water but it does not sit on a tilt. The ice cap on Mars will forever remain frozen while the desert tundra of mars surface which im asuming its cold since there is no atmosphere (at least not like ours) and its further than the sun will be unable to sustain life.

Lets not forget that the moon also provided a decent amount of protection from asteroids that drifted away from the asteroid belt and impacted the Moon. The far side of the moon is littered with thousands of craters. The conditions for life are incredibly fragile. This is why I dont think its all that possible that their maybe be intelligent life in the universe like us.

The planet must be hospitable (non-toxin for carbon based organisms), must be within a certain margin away from a star which it orbits, that star must be within a certain band of its host galaxy. Enough time must elapse with out serious cataclismic (sp) events to erase life. Not saying it cant happen because the odds are there. But then the odds of them able to find us on top of life being able to exist and travel that great distance? Our planet is a noisy one but I dont think intelligent species would be able to pick us out of our galaxy.

A large part of this response is a huge reason I believe there is intelligence behind our existence (yes I mean God). it all happened just a bit too perfectly. There are things that exist within our very own bodies that science STILL can't explain.

Also, I have no intent to start a religious debate. Please don't respond to my post if you intend to do that. It never goes well.

God of the gaps is all I will say.

OT: That is an interesting pic, but my common sense tells me that a civilization so advanced as to develop faster than light travel would not spend their time lurking around the desert floor in the middle of nowhere.
