Anyway been going thru a tough time as some might know with the old lady, work, kid, and other BS. Anyway we were driving 2x2" stakes in the ground for a new ride, Ride Tech at an amusement park FYI, and I was grabbing one out of the bucket and got a small splinter. I was wearing Mechanix gloves just for half ass protection and I felt the splinter. Stopped saw it sticking thru the glove on both sides so I broke it off and took my glove off. Looked at my finger and saw it going in my finger on one side then turned my hand and it was going out the other side. I was like ****! So I got my 440 Channel Locks, yea there big and tried to pull it back out, nope it broke. So I knew ER here I come. And keep in mind it felt like a normal annoying splinter.

So I get to the hospital and they make me fill out my life's story on some paper with my writting hang which it screwed right now, all in the process of my old lady telling my she doesn't think it will work out anymore. So I get done and my RN was a lady with a mullet....*** bad news. 2 shots of numb ****, that hurt and burned, and she started pulling a tugging before it was even numb. Very weird feeling. They had to almost sit on my hand to hold me down and when it finaly came out, nasty....very little feeling in my right index finger right now. So anyway it finaly comes all out and she has to stick my ass with some anti-biodics. (SP?) yea that was very weird but they lady that basicaly ass rapped me was hot.

So anyway here I am now right at 24hrs. later, took me 15 mins to write this, and they gave me 50 pills of Vikadon 10mg's....w00t. I think I'm feeling better than Campo right now, better than a high cause this **** was subscribed. Anyway kinda weird pics so I guess not for the vaint. And as for the old lady, yea she came over today and we talked, I hammered on her for a good hour to an hour and a half and she forgot all about it but that's another TV-MA story. Enjoy and show me some criticism.




Inside the finger is where it went in and outside the finger you can barely see it coming out. Still doesn't hurt just I guess it caught some tendants and audaries (SP? FTL!!) So I got like half ass feeling.

 

yeah, i sliced my finger open on a cyl head on a 4.0 l inline 6 jeep wrangler, didnt hurt but boy did it bleed, ruined my uniform shirt and got yelled at for getting blood in the office, took 4 stictches and a sweet tetnis shot. it was a good day alright.

 

That sucks, and yea it was so fast no pain, but when I saw blood when I tried to pull it out, then I got dizzy.

 

eeewwwww... i got my index finger stuck between a wheel and a brake caliper when i was looking for a bent wheel,.......that was a good time....

 

Been there, and yea it hurt. Damn I wanna hear some more stories, kinda making me feel better.

 

yeah....last time i spun a wheel by the spoke...lets her some more war stories

HAHA I bet, my dad worked on my 80 dirt bike way back and he spun the rear tire and his finger got hung up in the chain and sprocket, yea nasty.....he said no pain but a lot of blood. Looks weird, so like where it should be under the nail it's only like half there. Keppin the injuries alive in the family.

 

I'll post a pic of the scar on my thumb along with the stupid way I got it.

I was cutting a zip tie with a dull ass kitchen knife. (2nd dumb ass move)I was pulling the knife in the direction of my face. Well the zip tie cut finally and I was using alot of force. So the knife came up into my eye and went 1/2 inch into the white of my eye. It bleed a little but not bad and my eye was solid red for a month.. I got a tetnis (sp) shot. No bad effects but they did say if it would have been just a hair to the right that it would of hit something in the center and blinded me. And almost zero pain.

 

one of the guys at work ran his finger thru a belt over a powersteering pump on a jeep, smashed the **** out of it.

 

Yup, didn't feel very much when it happened. Felt like a regular ass splinter. Now I'm feeling some pressure, the doctor said it might take a few months for the feeling to come all the way back.

WTF!!!! I did the same but with a zip tie being stupid flipping it around but it was like poking it.

Damn that made my stomach clinch. Done something similar to that. They guys I work with, all seasoned maintenance workers have some pretty nasty stories.

Wow. Just wow. That looks like chronic arthritis down the road if you get all your feeling back in it. Happy to say I've lived a mostly....civil...life. I did make a dry ice bomb(for those wondering this was long before Mythbusters was on air). My mistake was no hearing protection, there was only about 2 oz. of water, and it was a thick Mountain Dew bottle.

 

LOL been there and done that. but yea I'm worried about my finger and joints bad cause arthritis runs in the family.

Felt like a regular splinter when it went it and it hit nerves and went numb. I got lucky.

 

Hand injuries SUCK. I had my finger crushed between a 2500lbs engine block and a 300lbs camshaft from a Series 4000 MTU engine. My finger popped like a grape being stepped on. It was crushed.

It hurt like a ****. I was all irrational and ****...looking back it was funny. I didn't want to be like 21 and having my finger amputated at the hospital because it was such a mess. Thankfully it's just a bit weird looking now.
