Vette Taillight Mod. With Ghost stripes.

So, I did the Vette tail light mod yesterday. I went a slightly different route than most.

I didn't do this

Size: 181.2 KB

Or this

Instead, I did this

For ghost flames, I did this

Look hard and you can see them coming off the headlight area. They are hard to see and really hard to capture with a camera.

Since I was used to 2 tone red/black interior

Might be a little too much. Probably put black floor mats in.

Some more pics

The engine covers were signed by the members of the Chevrolette Corvette Grand Am GT1 and GT2 racing team. Fellows, O'Connell, all there. I'll put them in the closet so they don't get ruined. Drag them out for Cars and Coffee.

Actually has the tire inflation kit that's pretty hard to come across

It had 10,800 on it when I bought it. It's my 3rd C5. First z06 though.

2002

2004

I like red.

Oh, and this guy? Coming soon to an auction near you.

Congrats on the new purchase, assuming you're getting a new daily driver and not driving the vette daily

And somewhere a salesman is driving the Cobalt home from work and XM just shut off. Heehee.

The Vette is a daily, as have all of them been. I did normally have a winterbeater but it doesn't snow here.

10k. Owner has several Vettes. Drove this one to car shows. It's never seen rain. I'll fix that on the way to work tomorrow.

I'm going to put rocker panel rub rails underneath so the speed bumps here don't eat my rockers. Black floor mats because the red shows dirt too easy. A new head unit with XM and maybe bluetooth. Thermal abs to keep the heat of the exhaust from heating the console. Maybe maybe projectors with Hids. Probably all I'll do to it.

Thanks Adam. Tell you what. 4.5 hours to Atlanta in the balt, I had a headache started and my back was getting sore. 4.5 hours back in the Vette, I was good for more. First time I touched the brakes there was no looking back.

I'm a tad conflicted about this to be honest. In one hand, the vette is all sorts of dead sexy and far superior to that balt in basically every way, but in the other hand, another good balt owner bows out....

Beautiful Vette, congrats. That's what I would DD as well if insurance didn't kill me.

John, I appreciate that. I really do.

I'm hoping that the next owner joins up here and turns out OK.

Beautiful car, i can see why you sold the cobalt. At some point in a couple years i will have a z06 in my garage, but im keeping the cobalt due to it getting great gas mileage. Most people don't know that the cobalt ss is the 11th most expensive car to insure due to so many younger guys getting them and wrecking them. I can actually insure a non z06 cheaper than my SS. ENJOY IT!
BTW- i'm doing the paypal now for my part.

I added some coverage and lowered my deductible when I got the Vette. Insurance went up 16 bucks a year.

Gas mileage on stock cobalt from here to atlanta, 4.5 hours drive. 25.2
Gas mileage stock z06 atlanta to here. 24.9

I'm good with that.
