video editing
i'm going to the track tomorrow and i'm going to have a camera recording from inside the car and someone recording from the stands.
is there a way to edit these to where i can have it like a split screen on videos games, one on top and one on bottom and have them play as one video with things happening at the same time?

yea Adobe Premiere if you are good
and i guess windows movie maker for amateurs or whatever its called all youtube videos use it with the dumb transitions haha
if i had my programs, sad story, lets just say CS4 photoshop fucked up my CS3 suite haha
u can have both videos playing and either audio track of choice playing, with some editing someone could sync up the videos, combine them to look as one shot going from inside to outside

FCP and Premier pretty much accomplish the same thing. One is not better than the other, unless you talk to the fanboys, and they'll chew your ear off about why one is better lol. Both are great programs. Adobe premier will be easier for a beginner to learn on, and if you're used to PC, it will be even easier than trying to learn both a new editing program and a new operating system at the same time. Mac and FCP are the standard in the world of editing (many companies still use pc, the main reason being that they're signficantly cheaper.... think about your average boss, does he buy the best computer there is, or does he buy the one that will get you by lol) and the way FC Studio works is superior to adobe, but that's not till you're getting into the advanced stages of editing. Adobe has some advantages, especially when it comes to working with effects. Mainly the lack of rendering. if you have a fast mac, this is not an issue. If you have a very slow one, rendering kinda sucks.
So basically, they're 2 great programs, it's going to come down to budge, ease of use, and if you prefer mac or pc. Can't go wrong with either.
If you don't want to get into or don't need an advanced editing program, for pc something like vegas is not bad. Cheap, and still gets the job done. On mac, their Ilife suite is great for beginners, or for someone that's just putting together movies as a hobby. So there's definitely options out there regardless of budget, and doesn't matter what computer you prefer.
