Vinyl Wraping a 2007 Cobalt

I’m doing this over the winter. I’m going to do a little every time I have a day off. So far I completed the trunk lid in one piece and removed the wing. Will put the wing back on after the rear quarters and bumper are wrapped.

Trunk lid changes Color in the light from blue to Purple. I am Using Avery Dennison Rushing Riptide blue.

yes I am. I wrapped my golf cart about 5 years ago. Sold it but it’s still wrapped. Surprised it held out this long.

How much $$$ does the vinyl cost? Cheaper than paint?

if your looking at just the cost of the product, vinyl is cheaper than paint. from what im told, on average it takes 2 days to completely wrap a car (including disassembly and reassembly).

one thing to remember with a wrap is it needs a clean, flat, sealed surface. imperfections on the surface will show, any large chips, peeling clear, dents, large scratches, etc will all show through wrap. when doing a wrap on a car thats had major body work you need to get it into paint first. granted you dont need to do as good a job if its getting a wrap over it (can sand it out to 220 grit and use single stage paint). at this point, imo, your better off to block the car out and spray it with proper paint and call it a day.

I believe you are right in saying I would be better of just spraying it once I got to the point of blocking the car. It's not like I am going for a unique color and I already have a gallon of victory red.
