this is wat happens when you wanna go fast

the other day on the way to the dyno i fucked my car up. today i pulled the head off and discovered this. i think it may be due to detonation because i was runnin a 10:1 compression. i say this because the car started sputterin real bad before it blew

How much HP were you running? I thought the sleeves were good for 400 Hp at least.

not on a 2.0 and DEFF not for that 2.2

Yeah I know its a 2.2 thats why I said I thought they were good for 400hp. I didnt know there was much of a difference between LSJ and L61. Ecotec blocks should all be similar except for Gen1 and Gen2. Thats what I was lead to believe anyway.

you were lead to believe right....gen 1 lsj and gen 1 l61= same sleeves

it was at 15 psi when it blew, usually on about 20 because it dropped down for some reason

yea....sucks it blew on the way to the dyno...i have the worst luck i could either spend $1300 on parts to fix it plus labor orrrr get a new car...im on the rocks

well labor of puttin sleeves in, i can take the engine out myself. im half way there already...ohh and plus i need a new transmission cause my 3rd gear is going out
