After owning my first new car with the cobalt i've learned a few things about the importance of quality. I love my horsepower. But i may have been willing to sacrafice a few hp's for the quality in the VW GTI. I don't like my peeling interior paint, my bubbling wheel paint or the fact that the clutch they put in a sports car wears easily with hard use or the fact that they made a sports car front wheel drive and it takes twice the effort to launch as a Nissan or a Mitsubishi. Sorry... you're wrong. I've seen plenty of domestic rice... especially with the introduction of the cobalt LS... it's becoming the new civic in my hometown.

What is an import anymore? Toyota's are made here, so are Subaru's. Some Porsches come from Mexico does that mean they have mexican engineering instead of German engineering?

Imports VS. Domestics isn't practical any more since its damn near impossible to tell where the car was built.

lol cuz imports dont suck..go to youtube and look up 9 sec cobalt and u'll see a race of a cobalt being beat at the 1/8 mile by a civic..then look up 9 sec civic..u'll find page after page of 9sec 1/4 mile civics....who really sucks?

Its been around longer cause back in the day there was no such thing as a fast import! Well except Porsche and Ferreri that is. Back when I was a kid Honda's were cheap little throw away cars that noone took seriously. Boy how times have changed!

Plenty of badass boosted Z's, built EVOs/STIs, Supras, etc etc that will run any "American Muslce Car" out there too.

My 72 Fire Bird ran low 11's all day every day on just the motor for over 10 years without needing so much as a valve cover pulled. Those times BTW were on street tires and threw the mufflers and trapping 140 to 144 mph. My mph is a high 9 second car but without slicks I couldn't hook up.

To be fair not many imports can do that for that long while being a daily driver as well, can they? If I'm wrong please correct me, but they need to do so for at least 10 years without more then oil changes and tune up's.
