Cobalt SS w/G5 front and rear end?
Has anyone out there done this? Are there pics out there? I think this could look really cool. It seems to me that all you'd have to do is replace the trunk with a G5 piece, install G5 brake lights and put on a G5 GT front bumper cover and you're done. I think it'd look awesome, and totally get those second glances from people who don't quite know what's flying past them on the highway.

There is a guy on G5Club.net (ACESSbalt) currently going through this process.
It is very possible since the car has the exact same body, so everything will mount up correctly.

--------------------------
You will need:
Pontiac G5 rear bumper. Get the GT bumper WITHOUT buying the GT valence (You can use the SS one) and just use that. The GT valence should have the clip holes or have the markings to allow you to cut the holes for them. If you get the Base model bumper, you will need to mark and make your own holes).
Pontiac G5 Tailights (Coupe)
Pontiac G5 Decklid (Or you can just have a body shop close the holes in your existing one that were for your reverse lights)
Pontiac G5 Grille Surround and Grille Insert. Maybe the front arrow head if you buy one from the dealership rather than go junkyard hunting.
Pontiac G5 Badges if you don't want your car debadged.
Pontiac airbag emblem (05-06) from the Canadian Pontiac Pursuit(G5's previous name before 2007), or a replacement driver side airbag module from a Pontiac G5 for MY's 2007-2009). If you are going to switch to the 3 spoke wheel from a 4 spoke, you will need the wheel too.
Pontiac wheel caps if you intend on keeping the stock wheels.
-------------------------------
For the front you only will need to cut the Grille crossbar off (The one the chevrolet logo sits on) in order to make the G5 grille fit. They do this at the factory for the G5's since they use the same exact mold for both the Cobalt and the G5 for the front bumpers. If you don't have the SS/TC, I suggest you get the lower grille insert for the TC since it better matches the G5's nostril grilles better than the one from the G5GT.

The G5 got neglected by GM. It and the Astra are the only Delta body vehicles to never be sold with boost from the factory (To my knowledge, there was only one LSJ G5 ever produced, and it is on display at Lordstown).
The Cobalt SS has the LSJ/LNF, the ION Redline has the LSJ, the HHR has the LNF.
The best the G5 ever got was the LE5, and now it only has the LAP.

G5 > Cobalt
All day long
G5 tails != sedan tails
And why would he want to do it? Would you want the only vehicle of your type ever made? If you had the chance to make a few changes and be a "factory" G5 GXP, would you do it?
GTFO if you think you wouldn't.

excuse the hell out of me! The tail lights are close enough to the same that they look alike until shown right next to one another. I wasn't downing them at all.

NO not the same. The G5 doesnt have backup lamps in the taillights, there in the bumper ,the angles in the truck are different too!
