Question 06 Cobalt SS Supercharged Cluster issue

Hi,

I've just purchased a 2006 Chevy Cobalt SS Supercharged, and recently my cluster gauge has been giving me issues. I will be going down the road at, lets say 60mph, then all of the sudden my speedometer & RPM gauge will drop to 0 mph , but I'm still going at the same speed. My car does not make any weird noises, nor does it shift weird or anything to that effect...Eventually the cluster will correct itself, but I really want to kno what the problem could be...

I have searched for hours and can't seem to find any regarding this issue, and the dealership says they can't help me. Any info regarding this would be great. Thank's

Try checking for loose fuses or see if the actual connection to the cluster is loose

I have almost that EXACT same problem. I did some research on it. I beleive it's a failure of the Low Speed GM LAN Databus.

Were you gettting Low Fuel and Power Steering warnings also?
$45 bux got my codes read at a dealership (Autozone scanns can't read non pcm codes) I had U2100, U2105, U2107. This weekend I'm going to look into the wireing for my GMLAN Low Speed Databus. It apperently routs the data Between the PCM and the BCM through the Power Steering Modual (? I have no idea why but that's what the schematic shows)

Hello mschaff4,

I just wanted to check in to see why the dealership said they can't assist? If I can follow up on anything for you, let me know.

We'll whenever by Cluster decides to screw up, my security light comes on, and also it says "low fuel".....but I have a full tank..

I have checked all my fuses, and I have also cleaned the grim off my transmission ground located under the block...but still no luck....

So I guess I'll have to check the cluster wiring itself for some issues..

I also get the security light.

Let me know what you find, and I'll let you know what I find whenever I look into it. Right now I'm waiting the 10 minute soak time to clean my K&N Air Filter
