06 lsj downpipe, intake, catback - no tune problems

Have an injen intake, 3" catless ZZP downpipe, and 2.25" srs exhaust. I have no tune

When I had just the intake on and the catback the car would hesitate every blue moon. I installed the downpipe and now I'm getting like a fuel cut off around 3000+ rpm. And some hard bucking quite often. I understand I should have a tune already. But many people say having an intake and a couple exhaust mods u should be fine without a tune.

Is this happening because my maf is over reading and getting confused? Am I stuck in closed loop because of pre cat warm up? Since it changed so much with the downpipe I'm going to take it off.

Can anyone explain exactly why it's doing this tho? I thought the second o2 sensor was just to check the status of the cat and had no input on fueling?

We'll funny you say. It was slushy last week. So after it started hesitating I cleaned the maf. It seemed perfect after that. But now next day I take it out and it's doing it again. Filter is dry flow. And it looked a little wettish but was dry to the touch. When I had just the intake I had a p0172 rich code. Now I out downpipe on and got a maf code for to much air. I'm assuming since more air. Is leaving the engine more air is entering the intake at the same Time. So maf overloads. Should it be doing this with these mods? Does unplugging the second o2 do anything?

What effects does the downpipe do without a tune? Second o2 has nothing to do with fuelling correct?

your maf is probably dead, stock tune with an intake you will not go over the maf frequency

I was just thinking with downpipe and Intake maybe it could. Not sure what the stock frequency is or anything. I ain't no pro. Hmm so basically I shouldn't be having these drive ability issues with my mods and no tune Ur saying?

well, I mean the car will run like crap imo, the stock tune sucks without mods, with mods its even worse, but not the issues you're having

a. most likely your maf is shot
b. could have a vacuum leak, check the intake
c. wtf rich code from the intake, check your injectors, might have one stuck open
d. you might be surpassing your maf freq, which would be odd, but not impossible
e. all of the above

Does anyone know if maf for 2007 2.4L is the same as an lsj maf?
