08 ss esc. act. ?

So I've been noticing that my esc has been kicking on a lot lately and from what I would assume not when it's supposed to, so my question for you guys is would a bad alignment effect esc. Or is that strictly a sensor issue? Reason I ask is I recently replaced lcabs and ball joints and yet to get it aligned and it just seems ultra sensative, it kicked in yesterday while going to pass someone within the range of 40-50 mph and also around a week ago on a tight highway on ramp, dry pavement, not to mention its never done it on either of those instances before. The just generally feels sloppy and I'd like to resolve it asap so any input would be appreciated! Thanks!

Well mine usually comes on When car starts going sideways sliding or bouncing so I'd say there is some issue. Don't know enough on how it works to help though

very good chance that it could be vss, slight chance it could be yaw out of adjustment, also could be one tire way overinflated and the one on the opposite side very underinflated.

The car thinks that your left and right on the same position are moving at two different speeds, more than 10% different. Look for reasons for that and you'll find your issue.

Thanks for the input sox-fan ! I can definately tell you all of my tires are properly inflated, and regardless of weather it makes any difference I've got a needed alignment scheduled for this afternoon and I will be sure to post any new findings but in the mean time can you tell me what vss stands for that you illuded to in your reply?

Vehicle Speed Sensors. Not serviceable or replaceable. They are built into the hubs.

edit - let me clarify, you CAN replace the hubs if you need to.

Ok I get exactly what you meant, now is that something a scan from maybe a tech 2 scanner could verify for me or is it one of those replace and see what happens instances? Haha

A Tech II can read the output from all 4 VSS on one screen at the same time, so the technician can compare them all and see if one is reading way off.

That's awesome so basically if there's a sensor for it the tech 2 will read give you live data? I thought for a minute I'd have to break out the multi meter and do the old fashioned ohm test! But thank you for all the help I really appreciate it ill post back when I have it check into it!

I don't know if a Tech II will give live data for every sensor, I do know that it will give live data as translated by the BCM for the VSS. It doesn't display ohms, but the wheel speed in mph as the BCM translates it.
