2007 cobalt 2.2
2007 cobalt 2.2
I have a 2007 cobalt 2.2l.
just had the clutch replaced 3.5 weeks ago. Last monday it wouldnt start after work. (It rain that day, 1st time since i had it replaced). replaced starter this weekend, and it was fine. Today driving to work and battery light came on. by the time i got to work no power on any controls.
Im assuming now my alternator is shot....I dont want to replace it cuz whats next. And i dont want to take it back to shop until i can prove its something they did, considering they raked me over the coals on price.

A battery light, followed by a complete loss of electrical power, usually points to the charging system rather than to starter or clutch work. The alternator and serpentine belt should be checked first, along with the main battery cables and grounds. Rain may have exposed a weak connection that needs a voltage test before any parts are replaced.
