ac died

Well my ac isn't working anymore, when I push the ac button the light comes on but thats it.The fan speed changes on the inside of the cabin with the speed control but the compressor and the radiator fans don't kick on.I checked the fuses but didn't find any bad.
I did have the condenser replaced last year but everything worked fine till about two weeks ago then it just died. Any ideas on this would be welcomed as I'm sweating my ass off.

your sweating your ass off? Whats the daily temps over there? My ac doesn't work and its already in the 90s here in TX. Thank god I don't drive my cobalt only twice a week. Did you check the freon? Maybe its low or you sprung a leak somewhere.

well if your compressor isn't kicking on I wouldn't check the freon... did you happen to get a new a/c compressor then put that freon you buy at autozone with the "leak sealer" because that **** will **** up your compressor.

best thing to do is bring it in, which makes us car guys cringe, but they have the equipment to test it. The a/c machines they got is an only sure fire way to make sure you properly filled your freon with the right amount.

this is the best advice. it'll probably cost 100 bucks, but there will be no guessing games.

Thanks for the advice guys I guess I'll have to take to a shop and have it looked at I was just hoping something dumb like resetting the computer might work. I havent tried adding freon or anything because I was thinking even if low the compressor or fans would still kick on, just not cool.
Cordiadohc I agree this stl weather sucks! I have to drive 30 miles each way to work eack day then on the weekend usally make a 1 1/2 hour drive to six flags.
