AC turns on when hot air is pointed to floor
Hi team,
So this morning I was commuting to work and temperature was cold.
Turned hot air on with direction to floor.
The I heard the AC compressor turning on...
Funny enough, AC button was off and led is working.
And this seems to only happen when I'm pointing airflow to floor.
Turn heating off, AC turns off.
Turn heating on, compressor turns on again.
Change airflow direction to floor/front, AC turns off.
Is this normal?
Anyone has any idea?
Thanks.

I know that if you put your car on either floor/defrost or just straight defrost that your AC compressor will kick on to dehumidify the air else you would get foggy windows. The AC compressor also automatically comes on if you have recirculation enabled. However, if you have the selector on feet only and the recirculation is off I don't think your AC should be kicking on but I am not for certain.

If you have it directly pointing at floor icon it's just getting into the defrost. Try turning on the recirc which it won't if the defrost is on, then turn the selector one notch to the left and try again.
At least on mine if the selector is directly at the feet icon it will kick on the defrost, one click back the defrost shuts off.
