AEM wideband reading wrong?

AEM wideband reading wrong?
so i have the AEM 30-4100 wideband. i installed it in my car when i was NA and when driving it pretty much went lean/rich all day and never read solid. it would go - - - at times and stuff. hit 12 than 16 and stuff. so i was liek wow my car is so off fuel trim wise.
well i recently supercharged my car. had a local shop do the install and tune.
and they were like yeah your wideband isnt even reading/working properly it just reads 14.8 and higher.
so i bought a new wideband sensor from summit racing. installed it yesterday and it still does the same thing.
i re grounded it with a better ground. the red wire i have fused taped in the passanger fuse box. but it doesnt read properly. anyone know why? i unplugged both connections in the back of the gauge and i plugged them back in and still no go. i bought the gauge new with everything included from a ebay seller.
i emailed the seller and he said to contact aem and if theres a problem get the reps name and he will take care of a warranty exchange.
but how would i know if something is wrong with this if it was brand new and everything.
can ANYONE help?

I have the digital AEM Wideband gauge, I have a custom tune, and mine sweeps from 12.8 (Rich) in full boost - 15.8 (Lean) When regular driving.. and goes - - - when i let off the throttle.

i had the same issue, and talked to the reps as well from aem. I did the test where u remove the o2 from the harness, key on engine off it should read stoich and it did. So that usually rules out the controller. When u key the car on with the engine off it should do the number count on the gauge and the needle should sweep mine did that. I then did the brake clean test in the rag and no change, so i ordered a new o2 sensor. my wideband will sweep but like u it wont go below stoich only reads leaner.

Yes Brandon unplug the sensor and turn the car on. It should do the turn-on cycle thing then sit at 14.7
It depends on the engine, forced induction type and aggressiveness of the tune. But a very general statement would be anywhere from 11.0-12.9

Yes do that. If it reads 14.7 the gauge is good. The plug it back in and take out the sensor. Leave it with regular air should go all the way lean. Then put it in a rag of gas or brake cleaner and it will go all the way rich. More than likely the tune is messed up.

Did you try testing the sensor? There's a YouTube video on it if you want to watch it. Type in AEM wideband test or something. Also you can get a wideband sensor from azone and it's the same sensor but a lot cheaper. This URL shows the part number.

well i mean the whole harness is covered in that plastic coating stuff. my friend did see a small rip in that plastic on the end but inspected the wires and didnt see any that were actually shorted.
and the wideband DID go below 14.8 when i was NA. but it still went - - - and acted the same way it is now.
it just bounced lean and rich and cut out all day,
all is normal highway driving and i dont think my foot let off the gas
