Aftercooler pump not workin!

Well on the Interceptor I am seeing IAT2 Temps when sitting still in 80 degree weather about 170+ sometimes over 200 degrees!!!!!! So I have noticed that I dont see coolant running through the resevoir when the car is on so what is a way I could test to see if it is actully working or not? Test light maybe? Oh yea and I just did the Cobra H/E mod and it was working before that either so I flushed the whole system b/c I thought there could have been a clog of somekind but I guess I was wrong! So what would be a way to check to see if it is working? Help me out people!!!!
Thanks

Bump

Check the connector on the pump. Mine did that once because it was not completely plugged in. I also had a pump die one time, could be that too.

So in the front gooseneck you see no bubbles, no nothing? If not it just sounds like the standard Redline IC pump reveresed wiring issue. Welcome to our world. There is a TSB on it.

You sure you have enough fluid in the system and that it's not leaking, right? I'd start there.....

What did you do? Take it into the dealership?

It was working before and then I just started to notice no movement of water/coolant in the gooseneck but I didnt think anything of it until I looked w/ my Interceptor. I was thinking that maybe the pump isnt primed? Is there away you have to prime the pump in order for it to start pumping again? And what is this wiring issue? And what is a TSB lol

Im "pretty" sure I have enough water in the system it just doesnt seem like the pump is working. I even too a screwdriver and put it against the pump and then up to my ear and it sounded like it was running but still noting, my friend told me to take the hose off and see if it is pumping water. So what should I do?

How much fluid is in the reservoir neck when engine is cold and how much when engine is hot?

They are both the same height/fullness, it never moves or hasnt in awhile! So thats why I was thinking that it wasnt working! So is there away I can test it or what?

If it hasn't been said already, when you pinch a hose next to the fill neck the fluid should start coming up the neck if the pump is working.

If the car is running and you pinch a a hose and nothing happens in the reservoir then the pump is inop. Nothing else to check really. I don't think there is a dedicated fuse for that. Check your owners manual.

About the fluid level, you need to check it when the engine is hot. If there is no fluid in the reservoir when the engine is at temp, then you need more in the system. That can cause that problem as well.

Theres a fuse or relay in the underhood panel labelled aftercooler pump I think. Other than that, its pretty much directly controlled by the PCM.

If you pinch the hose down by the pump you should be able to feel the coolant moving through the hose as well if it is working.

Also you said that you put on the cobra H/E... did you make sure to bleed all the air out of the system? If you have air trapped in the system it can cause major cooling issues.

When I did my dual pass install, I put in too much water and not enough dexcool. The water evaporated, leaving too little coolant, and the pump burned up. That's a possibility.

I drove it around and I guess there wasnt enough water in the system so I added some and got it full and when I pinched the hose the water level rises in the resevoir. How do I go about bleeding the system?

Drive the crap out of it, fill it. Repeat until you don't need to fill it anymore.

That's the long but easy way.

Will that hurt anything? And will that get all the air out of the system?

Don't drive it like 100 miles between checking, just a little while and fill it up.

There is a hole for bleeding the stock HE - it is on the top passenger side of the HE. I don't know about the cobra HE though. To help bleed the air you can pull the bleeder cap and put in some coolant until it starts coming out the hole then put the screw back in. Drive the car a little bit then repeat. It can literally take 25 times or more to bleed the air from the system.

I have been putting water in the system to help get it full, but I just took the car over to my buddies house and he jumped the sylanoid and the pump wouldnt come on! Now either you can hear the pump or its not hooked up right from the dealership when they serviced the tranny or it is just burned up! I am going over there again tomm so we can hook his Cobra aftercooler pump(its the same thing, maybe a diff plug but both of them are Bosch pumps) and see if it is the wiring!

See, I told you to check the pump. Have someone start the car while you are under it, with your hand on the I/C pump. You will feel it buzzing if its working.

How can you feel that if the motor itself is making it vibrate?
