Air in lines?

Can removing the brake fluid reservoir cap cause air to get into the brake lines? If I remove the brake reservoir cap, must I then bleed the brakes? I'm not sure if this cap provides and air tight seal or not, I think it has a rubber gasket on it.

Removing the brake reservoir cap will not require you to bleed the brakes and will not add air to the system. The reservoir will not add air to your system as it pulls the fluid from the bottom of the reservoir. The only situation that I can see the reservoir adding air to the system is if the brake fluid level in it was very low.

I hope this helps you out
