air temp sensor

where is the outdoor air temp sensor located on our vehicles... the mech. never plugged it back in and its just showing up as 3 dashes

I THINK its under the drivers side headlight bracket.When i had my headlights out,i saw a sensor with a green plug on it.It looks like it might be an air temp sensor.Dont quote me on that though.
