another noise from the balt

There is this noise coming from the front. I hear it 40 and up. When i was on the freeway i taught that there was a sports bike next to me because that is exactly how it sounds. I think its from the passenger side but it sounds like a bike cruising next to me. Anybody have any ideas on what it might be?

Thanks for any input

Is it a humming noise like a wheel bearing issue?

i do not think its the timing chain as i only hear the noise when its in motion. During idle i have no noise. It might be the wheel bearing so ill check those out. In case it is the wheel bearing would yall recommend to do both at the same time

does it sound like a constant humm? if so next time youre drving nad you hear it, try uring or changing lanes.

if it is the right front bearing, the noise should go away while turning left, as you are removing alot of the load from the right side of the car.

and the opposite for the left front.

All right so I finally got around checking them out jacked the car up, put it in neutral and spinned the tires and I did not hear any noise like the one I heard. So any other suggestions I hear the frequency of the noise getting higher as my speed rises

there is no load on the car on jackstands, you need to drive it. plus i hope your not spinning the wheels to 40+ on stands.

I think I got this too... Noticed it the other day I was drivin behind a lifted truck and I actually thought it was the tires of the truck. Don't hear it under 40mph. On the Highway you can hear it real good. Doesn't change When I put the clutch in, nor when I put it in neutral. If its making the noise in neutral coasting down the highway about 65-70 moh does that rule out all drivetrain?

Grab the spring while on jack stands and hold firm, spin the wheel and if it feels gritty in the spring change the bearing. You can check all four corners like that and gives you an idea what good/ bad feels like. Any grit at all will make road noise especially the faster you go.

Wheel bearing. And as for what was said above, It's If you hear it from the right, the noise will STOP when you turn to the right, Taking the load off the bearing. and vice versa

If your feeling brave, turn the engine off while your rolling, turn the key back to on though so your steering doesn't lock. Once your satisfied with what youve heard go ahead and restart the engine and drop it back into 4th (4th @ 40 mph = 2000 rpm, at least in my car)

Easiest way to check for a bad wheel bearing is to jack the car up (use stands); then, just grab the wheel around a 10 o' clock/4 o' clock position and try to move it back and forth. If it has a lot of play with knocking sound, it's probably a bad wheel bearing. Plenty of videos on Youtube. This will rule out the issue.

Same thing is happening with my G5! 2009 and 34000 miles! I can hear mine buzz at 30MPH +. Sounded like something rubbing a tire at first.
I've had experience replacing hub assemblies with my old grand am, and know how to test em, but when I turn hard left or right with the G5, the noise seems to stay the same, where the grand am quieted down...
