auto wont shift

last night i installed my dc strurt bar, very bad idea. so the instructions say remove the fuse box cover which i do. then it goes on to talk of a 10mm bolt below the drivers side windshield. cool, i see the bolt i got the wrench, i'm good. NO, as i go to lift the plastic cowl to get at the bolt the wrench drops. where does it drop to you ask? right into my fuse box. i hear a loud pop but thought nothing of it, cause i didnt see a spark. so i complete the install and go to bed. today i go to drop my baby at school and the TC disabled light is on, i'm throughing a CEL "power steering", my speedo is dead, and my car won't shift. all this pisses me off cause a) it was my fault b) i need to drop it at the dealer and c) i didnt even need to remove the fuse box cover.

Sounds like you fried the PCM (powertrain control module). A wrench across the box will do that very easily. And everything you described fits right into that. You will probably need a new one.

YOu didn't drop the wrench the fuse box was in the way. Think of it that way and you might not want to tell the dealer it was your fault

service dept. manager just called said he would do his best to cover me under warranty. wanted to make sure i didn't try and reprogram anything when i told him, no, he said he's gonna push for warranty. i love GM

and they did notice the mods but i'm good.

just got word they fixed the car replaced the pcm and covered me under warranty. wants me to give him an excellent rating on the service report. not much to ask after they saw i had an accident and modded my car and neither of which they reported themselves. good carma is really good carma.

rock on.....i hope castriota is the same way here in FL......but i doubt it....they are a bunch of old people.....although when i went in to ask about raising my speed gov. the service manager, who is probably in his late 30's, was apologetic about not being able to do it "by law".....
