I got my 06sc almost a year ago, and in the last few months, it has really started backfiring horrible, sometimes loud, sometimes not. When I bought it, it already had a Exhaust on it, but im not sure what kind. Whoever had it, stuck a 3a racing tip on it. For the longest time I assumed it was a 3a racing one. Till I compared.

Anyways.


Any ways to help this problem?

 

If it does it only after you let off the gas and are coasting ,I would think you might have a leaky injector
If its happening while driving then you could have a timing issue of some kind or sticky exhaust valve otherwise change the plugs and see if that helps any one of them could be bad as well.

 

If it does it on decelerate or downshifting...... and you have an aftermarket exhaust it's normal. All these cars do it when opening up the exhaust
