Bad Paint / Recall ? Anyone else?
So yesterday after chaning my oil I washed my car. After looking at the hood and side of the car I noticed some chips in the paint. I only have 6k miles on my car and I don't drive in bad weather. Anyone elses paint seem to chip very easily? The paint should not chip that bad from just normal driving. Or does it?

Mine's like that too, and I live in NC - no bad weather here. I also had a significant amount of chips in the windshield at only 3000 miles. The dealer replaced the windshield for me under warranty.

Thanks alot for your respond. My hood has it the worst and I fond one spot on my drivers side. It really pisses me off because I take good care of my car. Did not get a chip or scratch for over 8 months. And now it looks like someone threw stones at my car. Really, really annoyed.

well you better complain to the dealer cause the warranty covers that. NO car should be chipping at even 40,000 miles my 94 mustang gt still has a beautiful paint job not 1 chip and that has 154,000 miles on it. i noticed my cobalt scratches REAL easy these paint jobs are cheap as ****. im already gonna complain about the scratches cause it shouldnt scratching as bad as it does with a cloth over a wet surface. the second mine chips im gonna tell them to give me a real paint job and not this cheap **** not sure what will happen but definatly bitch to them.

I will post up some pics when I have time. Its night now and I work 12 hours tomarrow but then I'm off for like 3 days. My bro is comming home from the air force so going to spend some time with him. I'll get some pics up, I'm real picky about my car so who knows. Maybe I'm over reacting but still 6k miles and white marks and paint missing. Not very happy. First problem I have encountered so far.

My hood has about 30 little bitty chips that drive me insane. Something isnt right about the paint on these cars the trailblazer I had before this had maybe two chips on the hood and it had 100,000 miles on it

Well for me living in Colorado...there are rocks everywhere you go..including the highways...always get a dirt/rock bath...I had my SS for like a week and the whole front part was dinged up...I think Chevy's paint qaulity sucks...clear coat not thick enough..Now I have had my monte SS for like 2 weeks and already have 1 huge rock chip...so I know how you guys feel.

Paint
I had chips in mine when I picked it up. It was only a few but still, a new car with chipped paint is BS!!! Now it has even more. The paint is extremely soft. I complained to GM and they told me to take it to the dealer and they would re-paint it.
I didn't do this for fear of overspray all over the place, I do not trust them to do a perfect job. I now have 13K on the car, it has never seen snow and is in storage most of the winter. In fact it has only been rained on twice!
Now the paint has so many chips and scratches that I am re-thinking the paint job - I still fear overspray will not be controlled and now the car looks like **** if you look at it anywhere but on the outside.
Has anyone had their car re-painted???
If so, did they do a great job???

I have some chips too. It kind of ticks me off because I baby this car but I guess there's nothing you can do to prevent the inevitiable. What really sucks for us SBO guys is that the GM touch up paint doesn't work worth a damn. It always comes out too dark.

I fill in the chips with touch up paint. Last time I washed my car (Saturday) I had 18 chips on the hood. Pisses me off soo much. At least they're small and I can fix it at least...

I would like some more info on warnity issues and the paint. My father told me it seems like the paint is not best quilty. There is no way with 6k miles and not driving in salt/snow I should have chips like I do. A few on the hood, and one the side of the car. I also fond a really small dent on the passn. side and I'm starting to get very pissed off.
