Bad...very, very Bad HELP!

Okay heres the story, I was driving normally and I put my 2006, SS/SC with 1,900 miles into 3rd gear. When i gave it some gas i heard a deep rumbling, shaking vibration come from the engine and i could feel it in my foot through the pedal. I came to a stop sign and when i took off the car was increadibly shaky and made that super loud noise again.

So i pulled into a parking lot, poped the hood and nothing visibly wrong, had a friend turn on the car and rev, sounded normal. But when it goes in gear it make this horrible noise and vibration IDK what the **** it is and it worries me. The car IS under warranty so it sould be fixed no problem

I dontthink it could be from my driving, because you cant do that much damage from hard driving in 2,000 miles. and i dont even drive it THAT hard.

You guys are the experts, so help troubleshoot with me and tell me whats wrong.

MY BABY IS HuRT!

I had a cat once that had a problem like that... she was fine while walking, but when she started to move a little faster, she had this strange tremble and would fall over... it was kitty cancer....

... effex, I hate to break it to you, but your car may have Cobalt Cancer... all you can do is let it drop on it's side, shake a bit, and die... I'm sorry!

Have you ran over anything that might have bent something under the car? When did this start happening? Is it only in that gear? Does it only happen at a predetermined speed?

Answer these questions for me and add anything else you can think of that would add detail.

This is something I was thinking too. I just want to get the details before I give my opinion.

Edit: Effex80; if you really don't drive hard I would be pissed that this has happened. I would want a new car. But, if you do drive it hard sometimes, then you actually may have contributed to damage. Nonetheless, you should definately be able to get it fixed no questions asked. You are right this is a young car to be having such problems.

Dude, think logically. The car is fine in neutral, but when you put it in gear, the car vibrates. My guess is the tranny. Like someone else stated, let the dealership handle that. This has nothing to do with driving the car hard.

Transmission. I would take it in to the dealership. Hopefully they don't give you any trouble over it. If what is in your signature is accurate, you shouldn't have as much of an issue with just the airbox mod.

Every once in a while the RPMs drop when I'm at a stop and the car starts to shake... very rarely... happened to me twice since I got my car.

Well if you have not got the most current reflash for our cars yes your cars rpms will drop and the reason it shakes is cause the rpms drop so low it almost stalls your car mine use to do it but now i have all current reflashes it aint doing it any more

Yeah it makes the noise and I feel it in the steerng wheel as well, it shakes the whole damn car, Its like a horrible grinding noise almost, like im always grinding gears. You hear it the most as you give gas and let off the clutch and you hear it when your in gear and give it gas.

when you first start the car, right as it turns over you hear a loud THUMP! also.

Its pretty much fine in nuetral, made the moise when i revved it once but 10X quieter and it was only through about 4000 rpms

oh yeah, I dont have the airbox mod anymore, My RPMs were dropping at a stoplight once and it freaked me out so i put stock back in after having it on for 300 miles

Hey man look and see if you have any tranny fluid on the bottom of the tranny or any oil spots on the engine cause if its grinding you could of leaked tranny fluid or maybe they did not put any in it when you purchased it or may be you hit something look and see if anything is on the engine or is under your car

didnt see any oil or fluid, but then again i didnt get the greatest look. but I did notice that that supercharger fluid or w/e its called (the tube thats in front of the supercharger with the pink stuff in it) is like empty, and on Friday night it was like half full.

is that because i just haven't driven it in 24hrs?

supercharger oil is sealed - i think the pink stuff is your coolant? that's shouldnt have anything to do with your noises

So you have not drove or started it in 24 hrs and if you did start it did you noticed any kind of odd smoke coming out of the tail pipe? If you decide to start it see how hot it gets then check that pink stuff again
