new BCM has to be programmed by the dealer for your vehicle.

well, does any air come out of the vents, or does it not blow at all? The wipers do go through the bcm......but I would check the multi-function switch also.

Before replacing the bcm unplug the connectors and remove it.
Take a good look at the pins and connectors for burning or discoloration and corrosion(ones that don't look like the rest or blue or gene in color)
Spray the pins with contact cleaner and apply some dielectric grease to pins and connectors and reassemble.

Alot of electrical problems are caused by poor connection or corrosion on the pins due to salt water intrusion.
The electrical system consist of low voltage and any type of increase in resistance causes problems.
