Blown Headgasket
Blown Headgasket
so ive been looking at this for a while and i have been burning through coolant somehow every month and a half or so my coolant light comes on and im down coolant just a little over half way in the reservoir so i fill it back up like normal i havent had any other signs but that my car doesnt have a smell coming from the exhaust but im not sure what it smells like on cold starts like today white smoke came out so i decided to tap the gas a little and more white smoke came out i dont know if it didnt because it was a little chilly or if its the gasket im very curious to figure it out
the lsj dident have that problem op get your cooling system pressure tested alot of times you wont see milkshake on the stick unless its realy realy bad pull the valve cover and look most of the time the mix will just set in the head and valve cover another place to look for a coolant leak is the oil cooler ive seen a few of them go bad and cause the mixing problem there i had one go bad myself
Good morning Slowbalt4life,
I know you're hoping to get this figured out on your own. Just wanted to make sure to let you know that I'm here to assist if you were to decide on working with a dealership.
All the best,
Sarah

I know that but just to have him prepare for the worst of course than have him freak when it isn't an easy fix like a head gasket. I know a blown head/cylinder crack would be pumping coolant into the chamber and most like would show up in the oil as well. Cover all the bases I say.
find a shop that has a combustion leak tester and have them test it. or buy it yourself...
Amazon.com: LISLE 75500 - COMBUSTION LEAK DETECTOR CHECKS BLOCKS-HEADS-GASKET: Automotive
you pretty much open your radiator cap, and put this thing in the opening. If the fluid changes color, you have combustion gas in your cooling system, which would indicate a bad headgasket.
