brakes-lemon
Back brakes are out again, after less than a week of driving. I’m taking it in AGAIN today (3rd time total), I told them that I want a courtesy car cuz I have places to go. last time they told me they disassembled the rear brakes and reassembled them to make sure the factory did them right and readjusted my rear brakes. should i file for lemmon law? this is rediculous, its an endangerment to me and others. the only thing stopping me is my front brakes, and i have doubled-trippled stopping distance w/o back brakes. the first time happened before 15,000 miles back in sept. or oct. 06
If it happens again I’m getting rid of it. According to that I can get rid of it now since its been in and it had brake problems, the only thing is that I think I would need to get it inspected. So hopefully the brakes will blow out again, then I’ll just get it tested, get the results turn them in to get a lemon law

Get a lawyer, cause if you question any of the details of that document, then the other parties involved are going to take every advantage of it.
Don't make threats cause that just puts everyone on the defencive, and espically if you threaten to sue and dont have a lawyer or the money to back it up.
Give the dealer the opertunity to replace the car themselves, then get the dealer rep involved.
If you have anything on or done to the car, try to get it back to as stock perfect as possible, dont let them use the mod/abuse theory they like to use so much.

money isnt an issue, i have plenty in the bank, saving for a house.
you said to give the dealer the oppurtunity to replace the car. do you mean the parts or what? and how exactly would i get the dealer rep involved? i know the dealer owner and his daughter who works there, my mom knows them cuz she works w/ his other daughter. i dont think its the dealer cuz its family owned and operated, i believe its a GM factory fuckup

I would also call Chevy's customer service center and explain your concerns with them. They can sometimes be helpful in getting things done when a dealership is reluctant. The # is 1-800-222-1020
just got off the phone w/ them. they are calling the dealership to see whats up, then i'm taking my car in around 11am to get it fixed. hopefully they fix it permanently, thats all i really want, if they can't then i want a new car. The lady from the cust. svc. said that if they cant fix it permanently to call her back and she'll take care of it. She called the dealer and spoke to the service manager and told me that he wants this problem fixed to and that he will speak to me privately if i need to. I pretty much told her that its not just the inconvenience that is a problem, its the safety of other and myself that is the big issue.

Took a pontiac to a saturn dealer to have brakes done. A month later we noticed that the rears drums were not working, turns out they were installed backwards, after they were installed right all was well.
If they repeatly can't fix you brakes, get a lawyer and lemon law that sucker NOW! Its not worth losing your life over, or someone elses.
My TPS is screwy, my brakes/rotors keep messing up, my throttle body is messing up, my tires have premature wear, and the standard silver paint trim is shipping, warped rotors, ebrake doesnt work.
other than all that...i love my car.
other than all that...i love my car.
da customer serivce is helpful cause they help me wit my shifter...it came defected and a local dealer would fix it cause i had a an cold air intake and a exhaust...which had nothing to do wit h da warranty..so i had to take where i got it which was over a hour away...and dey fix it for free..because he said that it was common in da cobalts...cause it wasnt going in park all da way.....so my key wont come out
well they said nothing was wrong w/ it and gave it back to me, i think i might just replace the fluid myself since it seems like there's something wrong w/ the pressure. they gave me the b.s. of "oh well your resivoir is filled, and there are no lights going off" etc etc. if i find out once i change it that it fixes my problem, i will call chevy up to tell them that i fixed it myself and the dealer couldnt figure it out.
Good luck man. Sometimes you end up dealin wit a bunch of back-yard idiot mechanics. Try lookin for another dealership out your way. It may even benefit you if you have to drive a little further for better service, ya know?? Hope it all works out
yeah ive been taking it to the one i got the car from. i would put money on it that its the master cylinder, cuz the brakes are up high, the next time i drive it they are low, and then sometimes while driving the grip point varies.
i'm gonna call that lady back later and tell her that i have the symptoms of the master cylinder going out and/or air in the lines. I'm surprised the mechs didnt bother trying to bleed the brakes first, i think this will fix my problem.
since you have lemon law experience, how many times did it have to happen to file it and get approved for the lemon law, and then have them take action?
