bucking when shifting from 1st to 2nd..

Not sure what is wrong.. hoping you guys might have some advice. Basically, when I shift from 1st to 2nd, unless i rev it really high for shift, it does like 3 bucks.. Here is best way I can reproduce it..

Driving normal in 1st gear, RPMs hit like 4k, push clutch in (vac goes to -20), shift to 2nd, press gas a little and release clutch, as soon as it engages, it bucks about 3 times, not a huge buck, but enough of a pause to notice it every time.. It does it with the other gears as well but its really noticeable 1st to 2nd.

I took it to dealer and they told me its "normal" since its a supercharger.. however, I am taking it back tomorrow and test driving with tech at 7am. It has 22k miles on it too..

The Cat was replaced about 10k miles ago.. Other than that, no mods or changes to stock.

Please help..

thanks

honestly, not being mean. sounds like you can't drive. practice, bro.

sounds like too much gas and "popping" the clutch in ever gear.

ease it out.

I think i kinda know what your talkin about but i can't say i have the same problem, let say if i leave it in first and just hold it at 3k and then i left off, that then it kinda bucks. But i would say that it is just touchy, but i don't have that problem shifting into second. But GL

All cars do what your mentioning, in first, when your rpms are fairly high

I do it all the time when my gf is fixing her hair in the car lol

1st to 2nd gear in our cars is very tricky to do completley smoothly and you wont get it usually without a bump or two unless you're really trying

^^yeah, what they said. it can be torquey and very unforgiving because of something GM did with the tune. Torque management I believe it's called.

Once my tuner turned that off it drove like a different car.

just 1st to 2nd. feels like a bit of a bog and jerk kinda.
he turned torque management off via his tuner with HPTuners.

you get it tuned with HP tuners. Not saying it's 100% your problem, but it will help.

You get the tuner to turn off your torque management. I forget what it even does, but it limits certain aspects of your engine under lighter loads and makes the car a pain in the ass to drive, like if you're slowing down in traffic and get it down into 1st, and then traffic decides to go. If you push back down on the gas too much it'll buck like crazy because of the torque management. Mine doesn't do that anymore.

a lot cars do that, but for when you shift from first to second probably your letting the clutch out to fast.

um it's not that he can't drive i've heard many people complain about it...
if you're not trying it will buck and bog i call it a bit in the 1st to 2nd shift. i know im not the only one who's noticed this. if you put effort into it you can do it but 99% of the time who cares lol.
the rest of the gears are smooth engagement trying or effortlessley..

haha that is what i told myself in the beginning, but i got better! I hear people saying all the time that our cars are hard to learn to drive on, why is that. I learned on my car and really don't get to drive any other manual cars, so what make ours so different?

There's 2 things I did to my car that got rid of this exact problem; one was getting poly transmission mounts, the other was tuning the car. It's a combination of both as far as I can tell.

If you give it too much gas too quickly (more noticeable in lower gears), the car overfuels and you go rich a bit, then lean a bit, repeatedly until it evens itself out. This is the cause of that bucking. I had that problem until I tuned my car, now my car is smooth as hell between gears.

Having stock mounts simply amplifies this movement since they're so flexible.

he turned torque management off via his tuner with HPTuners.
Tune your MAF/VE tables. If it's a bog-jerk that's exactly what I was describing above. Torque management doesn't fix this unless it thinks you lost traction.

Hmm, don't seem to have that problem...(no tune). Try shifting from 1st-2nd at 3000rpm and let the rpm gage drop back below 2000rpm before u press the gas. I never have any problems.
