Burnt intake and now p0171
Burnt intake and now p0171
P0171 is like a lean code or something along those lines..
but anyways..
Was hooking up some gauges, so I was ******* with the fuse box (at night) so I had some powerful ass light... I had to trry something in the fuse box, see if it'd work, and keep repeating (I did this a lot).. But inbetween each time, i'd set the light down.. One time I was away from the fusebox and light for awhile and I smelt something burning... Started panicing and looking around and my Intake is smoking.. I ran up there and moved the light and it left like a little dent in my intake.. It DID NOT leave a hole..
Could that cause P0171?
I cleared the code, and it came back about 30 seconds later....

I'm sure that if the intake tubing is significantly bent then it would disrupt the way air is entering. See if you can bang the dent out from the inside of the tubing. Restriction to me means that less air is entering cause the car to run lean. Sounds logical to me.
****. I didn't wanna buy an intake yet. It's not so much a dent.. but more like it's flat.. it's not like "dented in".. I'll just go take a picture of it.. brb

thats not a dent, thats the spot the logo would sit, the injen is the same way. check all your clamps.
and less air is rich, lean is more air. You have a leak. What does your vacuum read?
