buying a cobalt, worried it has a problem, please help!

I've been a member on here for several months and have been searching for the right cobalt...I wanted a tc, but I will be using this car as a DD only, so I found a 2005 for $10,500 that I put a deposit on, but I think it has an issue...

When the car is started the front bumper shakes really bad, it is very noticeable and makes a pretty loud sound. Is this a common problem or what do you think could be the issue??

It is a 2005 with 83,000 miles on it. 265 whp
The owner had the trans changed, the LSD added with the new trans, added a lighter flywheel and a higher performance clutch at 80,000 miles(this was done by a mechanic in their home garage). It is also tuned by Tune Time in NJ

Here are the Mods done to it...

Engine
1.8" Pulley on supercharger

Adjustable belt tensioner

GM Stage 2 belt

60# Siemens Injectors

2 Step colder Iridium spark plugs

Meziere Aftermarket Intercooler pump

ZZ Performance Secondary Intercooler

Option B kit (Expansion tank for Intercooler system

Magna Flow Cat-Back Exhaust System

Optima Yellow Top Battery

Suspension/Brakes
Eibach Lowering Springs

DC Strut Tower Brace

Hawk Racing brake pads

Drilled and slotted rotors

Braided Stainless brake lines

Transmission
Changed at 80,000 miles

ACT clutch kit with high performance clutch and lighter flywheel

Brand New Limited Slip Differential transmission

Stiffer Transmission Mounts

Interior
Hurst Short Throw Shifter

Alarm System that will go off if you kick the tire

Red Lights that light up the floor in the front and rear

Trunk is lined with Dynamat

and it has aftermarket hood and healights, which I know has nothing to do with the problem..

any ideas???

sometimes when the radiator fans are on you can watch the bumper vibrate a little. i don't know of anything else it could be.

the guy says it's a 1.8" pulley and I just drove it yesterdy so I don't have vids since I do not own the car yet, I left a $200 deposit with the guys until he comes back from vacation in 2 weeks.

The car fax is clean and that is how I knew the trans was not replaced at a dealer
I'm not 100% stuck on purchasing this car, I just want to know if I should be worried and try to have a dealer check it out before I buy it or if there its something common, it drives great. the guy started it up and right away the vibrations started, however i didnt notice it when we switched drivers after going out for a test drive, the car only gets driven on weekends as of right now.

i had a tbss that i had tune time do work on, so i am definately going to check with them, im still looking at others for sale in the mean time, i just like the mods and hood is nice looking, the car is perfect condition otherwise...

i'm pretty sure tune time did the pulley so i will call tomorrow to check on that, but he has it listed as a 1.8"

it has dual intercoolers so maybe it is on the crash bar?, one is in the lower part of the grille covered with a billet grille and the other is behind the upper grille

yes thats where the aftermarket one would sit. but it's a 2.8. if it was a 1.8 you'd have to run coolant lines to Antarctica and back to keep it cool enough

nope should be good. you could always take the bumper off and try and move the heat exchanger back a little bit so it doesn't hit the bumper. and make sure its tight so it doesn't vibrate

I'd be worried that it was beat to hell since it is well modded, but it sounds pretty solid. I'd try for a lower price though, maybe the 8k range.

Theres a '05 Red SS with 70k miles...guys asking 8k OBO by me. Personally, id take an 07 or higher. 3 buds had '05 when they first came out, I bought my 07 sc in 07 and in that 2 years, they were in and out of the stealership with so many issues. Mainly suspension. But hey, its what you wanna do, its what you wanna do...your money not mine lol

main point is, 10k is way to high. even with the mods.

Run away from it,no one mods the car to drive it like your Mom.
Theres only so many Redline pulls in a motor and hes selling it so you can take the last one.

Yeah, way overpriced for what it is, I'd be worried about an unreported front end collision if the bumper's shaking, may not have been put back together properly. Already blew up a trans, that should tell ya something about how beat to **** it is.

thanks guys for all the input, i like all the mods done to it, hence why i was condsidering this one, and it will be my daily driver, probably will take it to the track, but otherwise it will be my "beater". i am going to look at a 2006 black one tomorrow, but again the guy is asking 13,500, im only looking at private sellers, dealers try to up their prices way too much, this black one has no performance work done to it, i also looked at another red one last night that was a 2006 but the kid wants 14,500 for it and he probably beat on it...the 2005 drove nicely and the guy is probably close to 30 supposingly never raced it, and he said the trans didnt blow, he just decided to replace it with a a new trans and add lsd, which is fishy...id love a tc one, but im trying to stick around 10,000 as i owe 23,000 on my other car still...
