Changed mine today after about 27,000 miles. It was FILTHY!

how do you change it, where is it, and how much dose the filter cost.

I changed mine at 10k and it didnt look to pretty. Im about to put my sec on one this spring. I get them from the dealer there like $20 or something like that.

 

...I just pulled it out of the trash and solved that problem.

Inside the glove box, flip up three clamps, pull it out and slide the new one in. They retail for like $35-40, but I got mine off Amazon for like $15. Just search for the AC Delco Part #CF125.

i didnt want to ask but i have the same question 2....

 

all the cabin filter does is filter the re-circulated air in the cabin...keeps dust and smell out, and some would say it keeps you healthier...just a good thing to have.

 

for the people that ask what it does, look at all the dirt on that picture. without that filter all that dirt is going right into your lungs.

 

cant see the pic....but if u say its dirty i believe u.....well i guess its time to change it.....cars just hit 34000 so i guess its time....

 

I just cut up one of those allergenic top quality house air filters, cut it to the same size as the stock cabin air filter and put it in, I didn't lose much air flow from the recirc fan. I'd say its probably 85% of what it was before in terms of air output, but I'm happy with the dust reduction that will come from it, and my allergies will be better too.

 

Bumping this... just changed mine at 20000 miles. It was dirty! I'm thinking you should do this every 10000. If you guys havn't changed yours yet... you really should.

 

i cant see the pic either, but i am guessing you cant simply wash the thing?

 

I'm gunna go get a K&N air filter for my car to replace my cabin filter.

That'll be a Sweet driver mod! lol

hmm my car has 50,000km just got it and i dont think the previous owner has changed it, hell it still had a very dirty stock air filter lol

i looked in my glove box while in rush hour this morning, couldnt find anything but this peice that unsnaps but i stuck my hand up the hole and i didnt feel anything, maybe i will try again when i am NOT driving

 

cant wait to show all of you mine it has leaves on it i pulled it out a little and bam **** everywhere napa didnt have it might order it.

 

Mine looked exactly the same way when i changed it at 24K miles.
