big mistake left rag in TB

ok i know your thinking WTF but me and my friend where installing something and needed a hood pin so we drilled and we didnt want metal shards to go in the intake and i was watching him do it si i found a small rag and put it in the Throttlebody. so he was installing the hood pin (for remote start) and i left to pickup my girlfriend at the bus stop (with another vehicle) and when i came back everything was hooked up but he never noticed i put a rag in there. so i start the car go to leave and of course it said power reduced. then stalled. took a while to figure out it was the rag stuck in there.

no now my car randombly shuts off while driving SINCE we installed a remote start and the rag got stuck. would it be because of the rag incident it fucked up something OR the remote start?

please help..

umm.. probably the rag. Our cars don't have an air/fuel/rag ratio.

I would suggest pulling everything back apart, take off your throttle body, and hope the rag got stuck on the butterfly, and is just hindering a massive amount of air from entering the engine.

If it runs roughly the same amount of time and then shuts off then I would say the remote start is the issue(running on remote starter timer)

how long has the rag been in there? Is this related to your other issue?

it was there for the time we figured it out make 2 hours, it was at idle fine for like 30min with the rag in it.

ok for a week i had factory wiring because we wherent able to figure ou the passkey and in the end the module was defective but now i have the correct firmware and module works. so for a week the remote start wasnt programmed.. and was still shutting down.

noticed something when i drive and i shuts off well it jerks thats when i know it shuts off then come to a complete stop then it dosen't start back up. where the driver center information is the temperature outside was stuck on the last temperature and my oil life was reset at 100% as soon as it jerked to shut off the temp went back to the real temp outside but my oil life still at 100% and isn't going down.

I would do a reset.
It is improbable, but, the car might have metered the air when the rag was in and the computer got that into the averages in the program now.

It might be a piece of the rag got sucked into the engine.

I would carb spray the TB and hope the tiny piece gets torched and spit into the cat.
