Car is not running right
Car is not running right
well i got in my car today after not driving it for a day and i let it warm up and everything and i started going up the road and it fell on its face. i can't get the rpms up past 1500 with out it sputtering and the idle is real rough. could it be a mac sensor or could it be that someone put something in my fuel tank. my flip over flap inside the tank aint there no more. i am not 100% sure it was always there but all my parents cars have them and i think i did also. in that case is my tank drainable? how do i go about that and how would i know that my filter and injectors are sill ok. thanks for your help in advance
It doesn't matter if you're tuned or not. Because you're not tuned though, you can pretty much eliminate a "bad tune" from the equation. It's most likely going to be a hardware issue. Something can't keep up, or something wasn't installed correctly, or a sensor wasn't plugged back in hahaha
Just find someone near by and ask them to log your car while its acting up. It won't cost them any credits to scan or even just read your PCM. Now, editing the file, thats a different story, but if you're not tuned, then that's probably not needed.
Good Luck!

I actually had this problem this morning lol. I think its what people call "limp mode"? Anyways did it rained real hard lately? I had this problem twice...just let things dry and if its the same problem that I did, it will be fine in a few hours or a day :P
Pull out the MAF and see if it is covered in white ****. If it is your MAF got wet and shorted it out.....
That could be the issue, but I had that exact situation happen to me and the car never went into limp mode. I actually ran water through the engine and got lucky it didnt hydrolock. Not saying it wouldn't put it into limp mode, becuase God knows I've seen wierder things on these cars hahaha
