I was about to do my 2nd run at countyline dragway tonight and 2 guys were ahead of me. my car was running fine and i baby it all the time(i'm even getting 28 mpg). i shut down cause the temps were getting above 200 and literally a minute later i turn it on and i have a CEL. i'm so pissed, all i have is intake and cat-back exhaust and the car has performed flawless. it still runs normal but i guess i'm off to autozone in the morning...i'll let you guys know what code i'm throwing...

could be a few things.

one suggestion i would make though, is to think mechanically about what your doing when you shut off a very hot car.

Hot coolant, very hot engine parts, and you just cut power to the pump.
now very hot coolant is sitting on very hot engine parts, and not cycling.
result is a very heatsoaked engine, and coolant getting hotter by the second after you shut it off.

When you are overheating, the best thing you can do is go for a drive and get air flowing over your rads.
another thing you can do is turn on your A/C, this will force your fans on and cool the engine quicker.

(after 2 runs it was that hot? are you shutting your engine off and pushing the car in the staging lanes?)

I would say it would be from heatsoaked air in a heatsoaked engine.
the oiled filter in your injen could also be a factor.
grab some MAF cleaner, always good to keep it clean, especially with oiled filters.

i would have turned on the AC but i was in the staging lanes so i couldn't. the injen has been on for 6,000 miles and not a problem and the exhaust has been on for 4,500 miles with nothing. i have been hearing from some people that it might be the coil pack for the ignition?
