certified used 2010 cobalt. bought two weeks ago and now problems. Can i take it back?

My sister bought a certified used 2010 cobalt ls from a GM dealership about two weeks ago. The first week her brights stopped working and her blower motor went out. Now her car wont start! Is there any way she can take it back to the dealership and get her money back or is she stuck with a problem car that she will have to pay to fix all the time once the warranty runs out? I dont know if it matters but it is a GM certified dealership. Any advice and help would be awesome!

I'd go back with the car asap and at the very least all of that should be covered under a warranty. I'd get prior maintenance records and see if you can get it to qualify for a lemon.

Read the paperwork. You might have some type of limited warranty. Not all places have a 30 day return policy either.

If it is a 2010, you should have factory warranty, unless it has more than 36,000 miles?

My GM dealer gives you 72 hours if your not happy with the car you can take it back, but you can only put so many miles on it. I can't remember how many mile's that is.

I’m sorry to hear that there are concerns surfacing already with your sister’s Cobalt. Typically, the “return” window for vehicles purchased through a dealership is 3 days/150 miles. At this point, our first prerogative would be to get the vehicle repaired. If you would like Customer Assistance in any way (help working with a dealership towards a repair, recall/warranty information specific to your vehicle), please email us with your information (name/user name, VIN, dealership) and we’d be happy to assist!

Best,
Sarah

if it's a "certified used" it should have more than your standard coverage ~ I think the 30 days thing was a Satrun policy... but I could be wrong - I've previously only bought (private sale) 10+ year old cars.
