lol. This isn't something new. Its the reason why the most common mod is charge piping.

wow - that's awesome!

thanks for posting the picture!
(but sorry about the bad luck!)

can you share your cars' build date (on door sticker iirc), as well as the last six digits in your vin?
(If there's a TSB out there that info would probably be enough for someone to dig it up... )

how much boost were you making?

Yeah this isn't a new thing. There are a half dozen or so threads on it with about twice that many people who have actually voiced experiencing it. It happened because of the boost from the aftermarket tune. You'll be hard pressed to convince the dealer that the stock tune did it.

I don't believe it was for this at all;
it was for hte early cars where the upper charge pipe wasn't attached... which caused issues.

I'd be wiling to bet $1 that crazy glue and ample duct tape would work... as long as you're not too hard on it...

I heard that mythbusters picked up a car with duct tape!?!
(I don't have cable tv)

Oddly enough, the last picture I saw where this happened I'm pretty sure it blew apart EXACTLY like this same shape and location of the hole and all.

God damnit! I read this thread and have been wanting charge piping... it was so damn easy to just hit the buy button.... Upper/lower purchased with couplers lol.

I should log off now before i snag a ZZP intercooler.

Or possible a voided warranty. The dealer tried to void mine because they broke a part and I fixed it kinda half assed until I could get the part ordered

My service writer was cool. I didnt even pop the hood. Just showed him a pic on my phone lol. Had to wait almost 2 weeks for a replacement so the Gorilla tape had to suffice. A couple weeks later I ordered a set of CIA pipes.
