After driving around 30 mins my check engine light comes on. Took it to auto zone and code read for bad throttle body/position sensor. Changed that out today and still got the check engine after a short drive.

Light goes off after a day or two of very short driving distances. When light is on the only difference in driving is that after 40 mph the car will shift into "passing gear" even if I just barely push the pedal.

 

Did you get the code erased after putting the sensor in? Or tried unhooking the battery

 

Yes I unhooked the better for a few minutes and still came on not long after driving.

 

And have also replaced the MAP sensor. To no avail.

 

could be a plug/wire issue, what was the actual code

 

Try cleaning the throttle body. If all else fails just replace it.
