chevy sucks!!

ok so heres some funny news...the other night it was windy as hell and my fiances cousin opened the passenger door to my car and the wind took it in the opposite direction and i heard a bit of a popping sound almost as if it hyper extended in the opposite direction... as soon as that happened i looked at my door to see the damage and there wasnt anything too bad, i just noticed that when i opened the door and closed it it clicked and rubbed on my fender... so i took it in to take a look at it and the service guy just called me and said they cant do anything to fix it cause it was my fault due to the winter tires i put on my car. he told me that he will be nice and not put a note on it so they dont void my warranty due to me putting aftermarket rims on my car, i explained to him that that wasnt it and told him the story about the wind at that point cause i knew my tires didnt do that. he insisted and said no, it was my winter tires that are too tall and pushed my fender back. lol that must have been a pretty ****** huge coincidence that i noticed my door fucked up right after the incident with the wind opening the door.. my winter tires are the blizzak revo ones and they are 215 50(or 60 i think) r-16's and i havent heard a single rub or anything at all. i know for a fact that it was because of the wind because i honestly thought it was gunna take my door right off at the time it happened but the guy was persistant and said i was wrong.
anyways needless to say chevy can lick my ***** and once i do all the work to my car in spring and void my warranty anyways i wont feel so bad cause whether my warranty is void or not, 90% of those guys cant fix **** anyways!!

nice work chevy!!

Put your stock tires on and take it to another dealer.

I had a similar run in with the dealer on my old car. Wind pulled the door out of my brother's hand on it swung it open futher than it should have. I heard the same rubbing on the fender noise that you are hearing. So, I called my insurance company after the dealer gave me the run around. The claims adjuster came to my house, looked it over, and wrote me a report that said there is no damage to the fenders what so ever. The door is pushed forward I think it was a quarter inch. He said take this to the dealer and show them it, and then tell them to prove the tires caused it.

Wheels and tires don't void your warranty, WTF is that guy talking about.
Go to another dealer and tell them what happened.
That service guy is an *******.
All these people see are young guys driving sports cars and they think we **** everything up. Mean while its the piece of **** car that ***** up all the time.
It's just there way to blame us for everything.
Next time your car needs to go in for service have you dad go with you.
Like I did and have them drive your car their too. I did that not too long ago when I brought my car in for service. My dad drove the car up and I was the passenger.
When they seen who got out of the drivers side thy walked up and asked how can i help you sr. my dad told them the problem which was the clutch overheating and they fixed it in a day with no problems. Mean while I drove up not even a week earlier and they told me it was my fault. All GM Service Shops are filled with ********. My father ended up putting in a complaint with GM telling them what happened I received a letter of appology and a Free Oil Change. How nice of them **** HEADS.

Go to another dealer. Don't volunteer infromation about the wind breaking it. Because that is not a factory default that is your Girlfriend not holding on to the door.

After you get it fixed come back to said dealer. Explain how the just lost a customer. Tell other people other people not to go to the bad dealer. Infact, call them out by name on here.

And for everyone on this forum sake learn how to punctuate.

these dealerships all suck.... they treated me like some dumb kid (they thought I was 18) when I was on the phone with them... needless to say they were not happy when I showed up there and explained the situation... needless to say they voided my warranty and I was very close to going completely wild on the guy.... he's lucky I'm older now or else I probably woulda kicked the ever living **** out of him for the things he said to me on the phone..
but the terrified look in his eyes when I showed up to confront him with what he accused me of made up for it...

I agree with you. However, don't correct people's grammar with typos.

"other people other people"

"And for everyone on this forum sake learn how to punctuate."

SHOULD BE

"And, for everyone on this forum's sake, learn how to punctuate."

OR

"And, for everyone's sake on this forum, learn how to punctuate."

Season's greetings,
Your friendly neighborhood grammar ****

A. The tech that looked at you car is wrong about the wheel being the cause of your damage. You know full well that it was the door being yanked open. HOWEVER, the tech probably did find a problem that you weren't aware of in that the tire is in fact too big and probably rubbing in the well somewhere, so take a look at that.

B. You know full well (as mentioned above) that the door is damaged due to the wind taking it. So why are you expecting, at all, that a warranty should cover that? Additionally, why take it to a dealer? Take it to a body shop.

Honestly...I could see being mad at the guy for blaming it on the tires, but even if you still had the stock tires...I wouldn't fix it for free for you.

It was your own fault, or whoever was responsible for holding the door that night. They let the door open past it's limits...that's not chevy's fault...hold the door better next time.

My car is almost 6 months old and last night I opened the drivers door to get in and heard the popping noise too.Got a flashlight and low and behold the door is catching the fender at the bottom .Took it to the dealer today and they said its a factory alignment issue and they will fix it for free.So problem solved I guess. But my passenger side fender was really screwed up and they had to replce it 3 days after I bought the NEW car because of another factory defect.Seems like there's a pattern here to me.But its kinda nice in a shitty way to know that Im not the only person having problems. So lets sum this up from june 28 to today 1 new fender at 200 miles,2 computer reflshes at 1000-3000 miles,1 new steering column at 3100 miles, now at 5100 miles I have clicking in handle, idle acting retarded again, clunking in steering again, headlight gaps stupid and rubbing paint off edge of fender, some really weird noise here and there like somebody knocking on my back window but it sounds like its under the rear end, hard to start when really cold outside(usually dies first two attempts),stitching in drivers seat starting to pull apart in the seam, and a dealer that obviously doesnt know what synthetic oil is.So there it is in a nutshell. And the best part is I havent even started installing my upgrades yet.Not paying to put my stage 2 in until something gives with all these problems.Gonna try my luck with GM and see what they suggest because I cant be too far from a lemon at this point. But I love my cobalt and thats all that matters right? There I go trying to make myself feel better again.Well sorry for the rambling but I just needed to vent a little,Im sure you can understand.

I've had a bunch of broken wheel studs before, they wouldnt cover the reinstallation of them because I have aftermarket rims. Like that would make a difference

Lol. My car isn't "modded", but I haven't had any series problems that Chevy could not fix within a day.

They probalby wouldn't cover it because you overtorqued them. And they know someone other than themselves did it because the wheels were not factory.

Agreed. That's like trying to get a windsheild replaced because a rock cracked it. That's not Chevy's problem.

Noone overtorqued them, they had last been tightened by the dealer, and they had been on the car for a month or two before they started snapping in half

Sounds odd then. I would say that the dealer overtourqed them then. If you have the correct lug nuts for the wheels there shoudln't be an issue.
