ok just to answer a few questions for you guys. i was trying to make a long story short but additionally about 2 weeks ago i already noticed that the dooor was slightly rubbing the fender while i was washing the car cause the paint was scuffed and i could hear bit bit of a creek when opening and closing it. i just didnt want the story to be like 10 pages long so i typed the just of it which was wrong in my part, and i apologise for that. anyways the night that the door was acting weird in the wind the door was already all the way open, i just noticed as the wind blew it made a weird noise like a clunk. that is pretty much it in full detail, so the door being fully open didnt cause the problem as the wind didnt give the door enough momentum to make it click that bad against the fender. i also noticed that the passenger door was closer to the fender to begin with compared to the drivers side. it could have probably been that bad for a while cause i barely use that passenger door, im always driving by myself. anyways ill type the whole story about what happened tomorrow as im late now to go out lol due to having type my explanation about my door hahaha. the story will be awsome i assure you guys will laugh so much at the run around **** they fed me. it was unbelievable, i got three different opinions from the guys that worked there and they all had a different story, it was hilarious when they all got together cause they sounded like a bunch of ******** caught in a lie with different stories.

no lol the door wasnt opened while travelling it was open in a parking lot at blockbuster lol. and as part of the story, my 06 pontiac pursuit had the exact same problem so there is definately a problem here. and one other thing the service manager even admit to me that those cars had so many problems with the doors like i had. he said that the problem was due to heavy long doors and poor alignment from the factory..ok i wont say anymore cause i wanna tell the whole story tomorrow.

yeah gm has used weak door hinges for a while. and a lot of people lean on the doors and the start sagging and cause the problems. i thought you were moving, and he opened the door and the wind caught it. my bad

Dealerships do have bodyshops in thier facilities, maybe he took it there not intending warranty work but was told the warranty was voided.

ok so heres my story, i go to the dealership and the ******* says to me that im lucky that he didnt record this "on record" and get my warranty void yet and that i should just get rid of my rims cause they were aftermarket and actually rubbed so hard on my fender that it literally pulled my fender back and caused my door to hit it. lol i was like what the F**k are you talking about that is absolute bullshit, the guy threatened to put me on file so i would no longer have a warranty. so then i lost it and got pissed. no ******* is gunna sit there and threaten me like a kid when i know for a fact that it wasnt my fault that the door sucked my ass to begin with. then the ******* told me that my total rim/tire diameter had to be 24 inches and mine was 26.5 inches. so i bust out the measuring tape without him expecting it and measure it, it was 25.5 inches so he over exaggerated and said it doesnt matter it still didnt meet thier "standards" and any rim tire combo that wasnt 24 inches would be considered aftermarket and harmful to the car. i got so pissed at him i had to go stand outside for a second cause i was gunna smash his face into the window any second.. as i was standing outside i came up with a bright idea and decided to ask him one more time if it really had to be 24 inches in diameter just to make sure i heard him right. and he still confidently said yes as if i were a moron and i should have known that info.. so i decided to go in my trunk and measure the dam shitty donut spare tire to see if it was 24" in diameter. well guess what, it was F**KIN 19 inches or so. so i went in there and said listen ******* if my rims are considered aftermarket cause there not 24" i would like you to call head office and tell them to recall all our spare tires and replace them with a full size spare with rim if what you said is true. well guess what he decided to tell me that what he meant was something else and give me a run around.
i got so pissed at him and went inside the dealership and started my rant in there, well it seemed that the manager wanted to listen to what i had to say finally when people started to walk out cause i was ranting about how shitty thier warranty was, and im glad that those people left and i hope they lost business over it.
finally they brought me to service and we had a look at my car, the service manager looked at it and said i did have big tires and they did slightly rub but that had nothing to do with my door and it should be replaced without question, then he walked away and another advisor came and said that it was due to me hitting huge potholes and causing damage. at that point i just laughed and said they obviously didnt know **** cause they all gave a different story. finally a younger guy in service came and said that the guy in the bodyshop was an ******* and i shouldnt listen to him cause the door was just faulty because several cobalts have come in to be replaced, after an hour of ranting in the dealership all went through and they didnt void my warranty on the body of my car. the young guy did suggest that i change my snow tires and that they do occasionally rub,and he even said the ******* in the bodyshp totally lied to me about my tire diameter having to be specific like what he said. needless to say i did keep my warranty but he did warn me about my plastic shield in my fender and said if i keep the tires and ruin that part they wont replpace it under warranty, which i believe is very fair because they did slightly rub.
man even the service manager laughed and said the guy was totally wrong about the tire totally pulling my fender backwards into my door, my fender barely had a scratch in it from my tire rubbing, if that were the case my fender would be severely damaged for it to pull back that far... thats the end of my rant for now and needless to say i got my warranty back and got the problem fixed..

Sorry, dude. That sentence is correct grammatically, but does NOT carry the meaning you think it does.

Misplaced modifiers FTW.

that whole scene about the spare tire..... stupid, why would a smaller tire cause damage. Pretty sure 24" or more would be an issue.

Good you got it fixed. But while your bitching about the warrenty remember that it really wasnt a warrenty issue. It was your girlfriend who couldn't hold a door.

lol it looks like yo didnt really listen when i said the door was already causing the problem to begin with. my girlfriend can hold the door.. the door was already all the way open in the parking lot so the wind could not have damaged the door like that, i said i just noticed when it swayed a bit that it kept making that clunking noise.. please read everything that i type carefully before jumping to conclusions, im not trying to be rude but its just such a long story to type that i cant be bothered to run over every single aspect of what happened, it is aslo difficult to type every little detail that went on because it would be as long as a small novel if it did.
