Clicking from front left wheel

My front left wheel has developed a definate click, usualy when I am changing direction from forward to revers or revers to forward an occasionaly when gearing down... the car has 30,000 km on it now and I am having trouble beleving its a CV joint but I guess thats possible.. is there anything els it could be??

Does it click when you accelerate hard? Most likely its a CV joint but it could be a control arm bushing or maybe a sway bar link? Thats all i can think of that would click right now at least.

I would expect a CV joint to click repeatedly when turning one way or the other and it doesnt do that.. and if I creep ahead and slowly build up speed it wont click.... but some times even shifting down reletivly hard will click.. its only one click though...

Is there anything I can check before I book it into the dealership??

Jack the front of the car up and check the bushings on the control arms.. sorta like try and move the wheel back and forth then up and down, Thats pretty much how I would find a clicking noise if it was in the suspension. If not try turning the axle shaft by hand and if you feel any play at all that might be your clicking noise.

I would lean on a CV joint issue. take it to the dealer have them check it out and make sure they hear the noise with you in the car so they cant say there is nothing wrong.
