do you throw any codes when you're running fine? could be a bad tune to where you might be knocking... i had the same issue, turned down the timing and now i've been beating the hell out of it for 4 months and it's been fine

I understand that you're looking to perhaps do this work on your own; if you do decide to go in to one of our dealerships, please be sure to let me know as I would like to be available to you in any way that I can.

Sarah, not exactly super happy now ....but customer service was great.

I had asked if worst case scenerio i woudl need header work what the ballpark amoutn was and he said lower half of the thousands. so i was expected 1000-1500 to fix.

Apparantly for the 2006 ss/sc 2.0 L cobalt my header is 1200 then he has to send it to fabricate it ...and blah blah blah and everything would cost me 3700 after i already paid the 100+ dollar fee to get it looked at.

I dont have 3700 ...2K at most. So i will be paying for a tow back to my home and then scrounging the forums and websites for the parts i need and just find use one of my friends to help me put it on. 3700! Thats about half if not almost the half mark of my Kelly blue book value.

Anyone on here know where i can find a header/headerkit for my car...im completely feeling helpless and just need my DD back

Head....not header right? If it's going to cost you that much for a head you might as well go to ZZP and get a fully built head to get gains as well as a fix since you will need a retune once it's done.

There is no way a head costs that much. I got a remanufactured one that was cleaned, inspected, and totally rebuilt for less than 400 and with the help of a couple buddies put it in myself. The dealership wanted 2k to do it for me

Oh no! I'm sorry to hear that it was so high, and completely understand that you are seeking alternatives. All the best as you continue working on this,

I got mine from clearwater cylinder heads. You can find them on google and then call them to see how much a head would cost for your car

Don't take it to the dealer. Just do the work yourself

Hopefully you get the cause of the spark plug popping out fixed, otherwise youll just ruin another head and have to spend all that money over again
