Code P0171 - please help!

I know there's a ton of threads on the P0171 code, but most of the ones I've read have been people asking that have mods. I just got my cobalt a couple months ago (2006 cobalt ss/sc), so everything is still stock. The only thing I've done is take the bottom piece off the air box. I did that about two or three months ago though and the code just popped up today. I know a lot of people say to just tune it out but I don't have the money to throw at a tune The guy at the auto parts store said to try changing the fuel filter, but I've also read a lot of other suggestions. Again, I'm just posting because I don't have any serious mods. Please let me know if you have any ideas or suggestions.

Put the cover back on, clear the code, and see if it stays off. You can also try cleaning your maf.

did you put a different filter on? i know the stock cylinder intake will fall off if not held in place by the lower cover.

filter might have fallen off? if not do what double clutch said

the airbox mod needs a seperate filter, then youve gotta drill a hole in the side of the airbox to tighten the new filter on
