Code U0101

I have a pontiac pursuit 2005 automatic with code U0101 lost communication with TCM

Symptoms are
No ambient tempature
No speedometer
Transmission doesn't shift
But cluster is saying to service the power steering

Car as 78000 km i have checked all the wiring to the TCM and the communication network
What could it be? I really need help please

My son had a similar problem on his 03 Cavalier. No speedometer and it wouldn't shift out of 1st gear. Turned out to be a cut wire on the Virtual Speed Sensor (VSS) It was located just behind the tranny. He rewired it and it was good to go. I read on google people reporting the same problem, the Output speed sensor was the problem. Not sure if these are one in the same, but maybe something to look at.

Thanks i just changed the tcm and grounded it to the body but worked 5 min and still doing the same thing I'll check my vss wire maybe there short together

So you've opened the looms up and verified there are no split or disconnected wires with a multimeter?
