Cracked Windshield

Is a cracked windshield that was caused by a rock from another vehicle covered by warranty? I just got the car 2 weeks ago, and I couldn't figure out which car it was to stop it.

Your insurance should replace it without your rates going up.

here is what i did. i dont know if its like this in other states. someone stupid threw a rock at my windshield and made about a 9 inch crack. i jumped on the florida turnpike and wrote down the license plate of the first dump truck i saw. i stopped at the next toll plaza and gave them my info and the plates of that dump truck. they just make sure that the truck was on the highway that day and they sent state farm out to my house the next day to give me a new windshield for free. see if this works, its worth a shot

Ok listen to this and save some money!!

Ok first depending where the crack is it can be fixed and how big the crack is.. Ok its not a magical fix but what can be done is for it to quit spreading.. If its less then 30cm long a windshield place has the means to prevent further cracking due to cold weather then applying the heat when u turn on the car.. Sorry I did`nt check where you live but ya..

A glass place simply drills a tiny hole at each end of the crack, cleans the crack, fills each drilled hole with some sorta **** and then does something else.. Anyways if you can live with the crack for how ever long I recomend just go to a glass shop instead of shelling out alot of money..... Yada yada yada, good luck

happened to me too. glass insurance isn't really worth it... you can't count on "bad luck"....

just go to the shop and get it replaced, should be around $200 or $250 or something, don't really remember.

or, if you don't really care, get a fix-it kit from pep boys or whatever and keep it from spreading.

But isn't that included in "full" coverage? My sister had a Geo Tracker (back in the day) and a rock fell off of a coal truck and cracked her windshield and her full coverage replaced it. I suppose it all really depends on the insurance company. Couldn't hurt to call and ask them.

it may be the case where u are, but up here our city dumps gravel on the roads in winter, therefor your almost gauranteed a cracked windshield, so u have to add windshield insurance seperate if u want it... so gay

Yea, insurance FTL They don't dump gravel on the roads here, but I would trade that for all these coal trucks anyday.

Man I would be HIGHLY pissed if they dumped gravel on the roads.

I seem to be able to drive perfectly fine with good tires and driver mod V2.3

I don't have any cracks, but a handful of small chips are starting to **** me off.

I think Cobalts honestly have weak windshields... I have had to replace mine already, and now have another big chip out of it already. And no, I DON'T tailgate. Especially not trucks lol.
