Dearship says they cant fix my in warrenty LNF

2010 LNF 34K miles, stage 1 installed in 2010

I'm getting intermittent lost of power while driving(feels like a loss of a cylinder). Sometimes it wont start, or will start but idle hunts between 500 and 1000 RPM then will stall. Most of the time it starts and runs OK. I'd say power loss happens about 3-5 times a week. Sometimes I'll get a check engine lite. This has been going on/getting worse for about 3 months.

Codes Dealer pulled were: P0106, P0101. P0300. P0301. P0302. P0303. P0304

They state "the concern is a characteristic of stage 1 kit, there is no correction at this time" bullshit of course.

I'm calling Customer Care tomorrow, but I thought you guys might have some ideas.

My guess is probably carbon deposits causing the misfire. DI engines are notorious for that.

Calling customer service was a good idea they should help otherwise seek out a better dealer
People on here have been to all kinds of shitty dealerships for some reason I found a good one they are out there tje one I dwal with has went above and beyond multiple times for me. Once the replaced a side skirt under bumper to bumper warranty even though it was most likey my friend that damaged it, another time they replaced my ignition even though their tsb doestbinclude 2010 models.

Moral of the story find a better dealer they dont all suck but if that dealership thinks its normal for gms1 to throw all those codes i wouldn't let them near my car anyway.

On a side note who installed gms1? If gm did it they more than likely used some shitty quick splices which are known to fail causing all sorts of codes

Needs the map connections checked and if need be soldered and heat shrunk. Most likely needs new map sensors due to the 106. The 101 code is due to a boost leak and you have misfires on all 4 cylinders which could be related to the other issues. Fix it yourself it is not worth the hassle of dealing with dealer techs. The 3 bar maps are dirt cheap as is a DIY boost leak tester. Swap the spark plugs out too while you are at it but use only the OEM plugs all others cause misfires.

Stage 1 was installed by the same dealer. I bought the adapters, so they didn't have to splice them in. Of course one was bad so they decided to splice it in without calling me. They did solder the connections and shrink tubing them, the work looked OK to me.

If i get a bore scope and check, and the valves ARE gunked can i get the dealership to fix that? I've read up on how to do it yourself, but why spend the $$$ and time if i can get them to do it under warranty.

True, although I'm going to assume they're the stock plugs, changing them wouldnt hurt.

I know all those codes too well.

99% of the time, plugs or boost leak.

And no OP, the valve gunk will not be warrantiable.

They'll pour a seafoam like product in the fuel and call it fixed. They don't do what BMW does with walnut blasting

I'm well aware, I've done it at my dealership on several vehicles. On the ones I've done, it has fixed the misfire problems.

For what it is worth the 5 year 100k drivetrain warranty only applies to hard parts like pistons, connecting rods, block, transmission, differential, etc... it does not cover for electrical units, sensors or accessory items. Unless one of those items are damaged and causing the issue they are correct to deny it under warranty.
