Dex Cool

I was wondering what type of coolant I should use, I'm going to flush out my cooling system and don't want to use Dex Cool as I keep reading of how acidic it is. Any suggestions??

So just go with the Dex Cool then? I was just asking cuz I was reading a few post from other guys saying that dex cool is too acidic and messes up seals.

I think if you put dexcool in older systems that are designed to use the green anti-freeze it can mess something up, but don't quote me on that lol something my mechanic told me years ago. I would just stick with the dexcool though.

Just use dex-cool, anything other than that and you will see problems. The green stuff will corrode the inside of your engine, its not the same.

I have had personal experience with dex cool and corrosion of a heater core, personally I prefer Ford's gold or orange coolant as both are compadable with dex cool according to my part guys have long change interval but not as corrosive, have worked at a dealership for 3yrs and havnt seen any coolant related problems with these. If you keep it clean and flush when due your prob not going to have problems but check out the link or do a search on the dex cool lawsuit

GM to Finish Paying Dex-Cool Class Action Settlements

Seems like they knew there was a problem and did nothing till they were forced to.......

Older cars used to have bad gasket problems because dexcool was to acidic for the material. They since changed gasket material and it doesn't rot it. Stick with dexcool

Mobile1 is all I use and I was just asking about the coolant to be safe. I don't want to spring any leaks.
