DIC Issue: Temp not working???

So last night we disconnected my battery to work safely on the HIDs and when I reconnected it, naturally it reset the gas milage and such but it also somehow reset the 'thermometer' on the DIC and all that's there right now is three little dashes. It looks like this...

---

Anyone had this happen to them or know how to reset it?
Thanks guys

the sensor for the readings is attached to the bottom left (when looking from the front) of the drivers side headlight mounting bracket. you probably pulled it off by accident when you took out the headlight. take off the drivers side headlight and you'll probably see it dangling somewhere. the wire may be dangling across the bracket, and that's why they don't line up properly. (from your other thread) may not be the case, but worth a look since you have to take the light off anyways. but the sensor is definitely either unplugged or damaged.

it's definitely that. or the sensor was damaged when it ripped out.

i don't have pics but you should be able to find it easily. it's a long wire with a plastic tube around it, so it's pretty thick, and it's branched off of the headlight wiring. flip the bracket upside down and you will easily see where it goes. when looking from the front, it clips into the back left side of the bottom of the bracket.

OH that's what that is? I think we disconnected it at some point to make it easier to pull out the brackets. Alright, I'll check it out and go from there.

I've got a similar but different problem that cropped up today. My thermometer seems to have "stuck".

It did this about a month and a half ago I think it was too. Then it started "catching up" to the correct temperature while I was driving around that day.

It's still stuck today and I'm not sure what it could be. I can't believe that it stayed the same temp the whole way home today.. it was very hot today.

The same thing has happened to me. One time, it was stuck on 14F for three days straight. Another time it stuck for about a day. I know what you mean by "catching up"... when it starts working again, it doesn't just jump to the correct temp, it takes forever to slowly creep closer to the correct temp. I never took it in to see if they could fix it because it always started working again before bringing it in.

Well, it's good to know that I'm not alone and that yours fixed itself too. I guess I won't bother with it then unless it keeps at it for a while or something. Hopefully it'll "catch up" soon. haha
