Dome Light
So the dome light in my car doesn't work. I've checked all the fuses and there are none blown. i got my volt meter out and there's no power getting up to the light, I also checked the switch mechanism with the volt meter and there are no problems, and the bulb isn't burnt out...anyone have any ideas?
thanks

Is your warranty still good? Take it to the dealer if you can.
yeah i checked all of them, i used an ohmeterd there is no resistance but i just can't figure this one out...shoot i can fix pretty much everything under the hood and install pretty much anything you can dream up but leave it up to a stupid dome light to trip me up!!!
Electrical problems can be the most nerve-racking. you could have a broken wire or loose connector. If you have power at the fuse -- and through the fuse -- then suspect a broken or loose wire. Normally the wire/light is hot and is grounded at the door switch when you open the door. IMO Check the switch since it is common to all your problems -- that is if the light does not come on when the switch is set to on and for door activation.
Do you have power at the light
You did check the fuse with your ohm meter.
And you should get some resistance through the bulb.

You need to probe the ground circuit of the dome lamp with a test lamp that is connected to battery voltage (Step 4 of factory service manual diagnosis) -- if the test light does not illuminate you have an open in the ground circuit
If you have power to the switch and no power out of the switch then it is most likely the switch itself. According to the factory service manual if the dome light switch is defective you have to replace the dome light assy.

like i said in the first post, there is no power up to the light, the fuse is fine and so is the bulb, i checked them all with my meter
figured it out, while i was rerunning all the rca wires for my amps, i was looking in the fuse box and realized that the fuse for the dome light was missing all together!!! It must have been swaped with something when i had it in the shop
