Door handle problem.

I know theres a thread in regards to the interior door handle's peeling. My passenger side chrome covering has been peeling off a little for the past few months. I'm assuming some chick slit it open with her nails. It wasn't much of a problem til someone was riding with me last week, and cut their hand open badly.

I was at Dryden GM today looking to make an appointment for a few things, and pointed that out to them. Then I waited for about 20-25 minutes, while then looked through their system, at diagrams of the door and anything else they could, and couldn't find the part or number anywhere. I physically saw assembly diagrams on their computer, of the door and panels, everything in place except the inside handle. I pretty much left 30-45 minutes later being told they would 'call me back' if they could figure it out. Kinda funny.

It makes me wanna test-drive one of the new ones to my house, and do a littla handle swap. I also put some thought into goin there at night and taking one of their rims off the display vehicles outside, when I dented and wrecked mine last summer. I shoulda.

On a side-note I'm also getting that ticking in the a/c unit checked out, and probly the blower motor replaced, i think my warrenty runs out in 10,000km or so, so nows the time to get them to replace ****.

I noticed a scratch on my drivers side door handle while waiting in line at the bank the other day. I guess it's only a matter of time before it begins peeling.

lol , this is my second cobalt and havent had that prob yet ( knock on wood ) but luckily i'm still at work. i work in a bodyshop as an estimator for the ins company here.i'm linked up to gm parts and other dealers and have prices on a computer program for a wide selection of cars lol.i just happen to hit refresh and saw your post.glad i could help out.if it turns out to happen to the drivers side there is no part number for that 1. the dealer you go to should be able to find it if it starts to just by using the supplied part number i gave you.

it's common and very easy to replace without removing the door panel
